Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the balance of operation of a cutting machine by providing a plurality of cutters in the circumferential portion of a machine body which is divided into a plurality of parts at the same angle via the axis of the machine body, so that one of the cutters in operation absorbs the reactional force of another.
CONSTITUTION: A cutter 4 is forced out by a piston 5 to press the inner surface of a steel pipe as the cutter 4 is rotated in a desired direction in a plane at right angles to the axis of a machine body 2. Since the cutter 4 is rotatably connected to a cutter arm 3, the cutter 4 comes into rolling contact with the inner surface of the steel pipe and is moved like a planet. When an actuating member 11 is constantly urged in the upward direction by a drive source 10, the cutter 4 is gradually pushed in the outward direction to cut into the wall of the steel pipe from the inner surface thereof. Since the actuating member 11 is of a conical shape, a plurality of cutters 4 on the circumferential portion of the machine body 2 divided into a plurality of parts at the same angle via the axis thereof by a cutter arm bracket 19 are forced out in the outward direction under the same pressure.
