Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely prevent the excess pickling and to contrive the improvement of the productivity, by detecting the line speed on the feeding side of the intermediate coiler, and by controlling the quantity of pickling liquid for the pickling line correspondingly to this detected speed. CONSTITUTION:The speed detecting roller 26 is installed between the drier 17 and the bridle roller 18 on the feeding side of the intermediate coiler. And, correspondingly to this detecting signal for the speed of the strip passing through the pickling unit 10, the flow control valve 14 is adjusted so as to control the quantity of pickling liquid to be injected from the pickling spray 12. In this apparatus, if the roll of the cold rolling mill 22 is to be exchanged, etc., it is necessary that the pickling line speed is previously reduced so as to coil the intermediate coil 21 at a low speed on purpose to gain time. Hereupon, since the strip passes through the pickling nuit 10 at a low speed, the excess pickling is ready to happen; however, the quantity of pickling liquid is controlled by the valve 14 in such a case, so that the excess pickling can be surely prevented.
