Abstract
PURPOSE: To promote combustion and reduce fuel consumption by means that dielectric discharge is developed on an ignition plug of an internal combustion engine after discharge stroke of it to activate mixture chemically in a combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A main combustion chamber 11 communicating with a suction port 16 and a sub-combustion chamber 19 including an ignition plug 20 are involved in an internal combustion engine 10. An ignition plug 20 is connected to the primary ignition device as well known, which consists of an ignition coil 32, a condenser 33, a cam 34 turning synchronously with a crank shaft of an engine 10, and a distributor 36 distributing high voltage to each cylinder of the engine, and to the secondary ignition device 40 which consists of a pulse generator 41 generating pulses synchronously with rotation of the engine 10, a driving-pulse generator 42 generating driving pulses according to the generated pulses, and a converter 44. The secondary device 40 is discharged for a certain period after an exhaust stroke
