Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the space occupying region for the antenna to be applied effectively to the radar antenna or the like, by providing the primary radiator for power distribution into the space between the reflective electronic scan antenna and the spherical shell lens antenna. CONSTITUTION:Feeding horn antenna 11a functioning as the power distributing primary radiator to feed the power to reflective electronic scan array antenna 2 is installed on the cneter line 1 in the space between antenna 2 and spherical shell lens 9. The power radiated from antenna 11a is received by transmitter/receiver element antenna 3. The received signal receive the proper phase variation twice through variable phase shifter 4 while it is reflected by short-circuit plate 5 and returned to the orginal place, and is radiated again through antenna 3 to be then radiated into the space outside lens 9 via secondary receiver element antenna 6 and secondary transmitter element antenna 8. At the same time, antenna 11a is located above antenna 2 to feature a reduced space occupying region as the whole of the spherical shell lens antenna in compariason with the conventional case in that antenna 11a is located under antenna 2.
