Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain effective cooling by accommodating an annular coil body x consisting of a flat wire with its long side surfaces overlapping each other and its short side surfaces exposed in an annular cooling trough an passing an ebullition cooling medium through a gap formed between the coil surface and trough.
CONSTITUTION: An annular coil 1 consisting of a flat wire xx5 with its long side surfaces overlapping each other and its short side surfaces exposed as its outer periphery is accommodated within annular cooling trough 2, which is fitted on a core 3 with gaps 6 and 7 of suitable sectional profiles formed between the surface of the cooling trough. An ebullition cooling medium is passed into this gap from an inlet duct 10 for robbing the wire of heat produced therein directly from the short side surfaces as heat of gasification of the cooling medium. The gas thus formed is fed out through a discharge duct 11 and liquified again for recirculation.
