Abstract

PURPOSE: To divide articles positively into a plurality of lines and discharge them without breaking by providing a pusher mechanism and a clamp mechanism alternately in the pockets of a star wheel.
CONSTITUTION: If a bottle 40 transported at a certain pitch on a turret 1 from the direction Z enters, for example, a pocket 2C of a star wheel having a clamp mechanism 22 at the point a, it has been squeezed by a clamp 24 by the time it reaches the point b, released at the point c, further transferred by the star wheel, and finally discharged into an A line conveyor 7. On the other hand, a bottle 40 which enters a pocket 2C having a pusher mechanism 14 at the point a is transferred by the star wheel to the point d, where it is pushed out of the pocket 2C into a B line conveyor 8.
