Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate a multifilament yarn uniformly and easily, by feeding a zero- twist multifilament yarn to the surface of a perforated cylinder containing a specific high-speed rotor via Haspel rolls, and by giving micro-vibration to the yarn with an air stream.
CONSTITUTION: The zero-twist multifilament yarn 1 is fed from the press roller 2 to the rotor 4, and subjected to the repeated tension and relaxation and unraveling from the doubled state. The runner 5 contained in the rotor 4 is rotated at a high speed to repeat the compression and expansion of air with the surface unevenness. Air is then jetted and sucked from the holes of the rotor 4 to give micro-vibration to the multiflament yarn 1 together with the rotation of the Haspel rolls 3 on the rotor surface. The yarn 1 is separated into filaments uniformly, and widened in the width direction.
