Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the peak level of the correlation function with less number of sampling easily, by taking the correlation between two artificial random codes which are shifted by unit code time from the demodulated output, in the radar or the like modulating the carrier with the artificial random code. CONSTITUTION:The output modulation signal C modulating the carrier signal A with the artificial random code caused by the artificial random code generator 14 is delivered to space 15, the reception signal D is demodulated at the demodulator 17, and the demodulation signal E takes correlation G with the artificial random code F delayed by the propagation time from the code B at the first correlator 18, at the first delay circuit 19. On the other hand, the code F is the code H delayed further at the second delay circuit 24 by unit code time, and takes the corelation I with the demodulation signal E at the second correlator 25. The correlation outputs G and I are added at the addition circuit 26 and the addition output J having the definite value(unit time distance) for the peak part is obtained. By sampling this with the peak detector 27 by 1/2 period of the unit code, complicated circuit functions are not required and the peak can easily be detected.
