Abstract

PURPOSE: The title method effective for coating small-sized articles with a high coating efficiency, by applying high voltages of opposite polarity to electrostatic spray gun and articles to be coated respectively to the grounded potential.
CONSTITUTION: The articles 2 are hung from the suitable grounded converyor 6 by the insulated hangers, e.g. insulators 4, fixed near the electrostatic spray gun 1, and separated from the conveyor 6. The electrode 7 is provided there to apply a high voltage of polarity opposite to the gun 1 to the articles 2. After the gun 1, the articles 2 are conveyed by the grounded conveyor 6. The part near the electrode 7 is insulated not to form an electric field between the articles 2 and the inner wall of the booth.
