Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable optimum access time to be automatically set by automatically regulating and holding the detection sensitivity of a speed detecting means so tht the speed of a head carriage becomes within an allowable range of the deviation from its target value.
CONSTITUTION: For moving of a servo head 2 to the target track on a servo disc 3 face, posioning controlling is accomplished in the speed control mode up to the neighborhood of the target as a switch SW1 is shifted to the (b) side and in the position control mode near the target as the switch SW1 is changed over to the (a) side. Further, a speed regulating circuit 12 which automatically regulates the gain of a speed detector 11 at the speed controlling is added. Hence, the sensitivity of the speed detector 11 is automatically regulated while the head carriage 1 is being run at an equal speed in the preparation operation period before shifting to acccess operation and therefore the variations in the detection sensitivity of each apparatus may be corrected and the optimum access time may be secured.
