Abstract
PURPOSE: To attract a heated matter to an excitation unit and surely hold the heated matter, by alternately applying an alternating magnetic flux and a non-alternating magnetic flux to the heated matter.
CONSTITUTION: An excitation circuit consists of a capacitor 7 and excitation windings 31∼34 which are provided on four magnetic poles, respectively. An exciting alternating current is supplied from an AC power source to the excitation circuit through a switch 8a. Another switch 8b is interlocked with the former switch 8a, which is operated by an on-off period control circuit 9. The voltage of a DC power source 10 is applied across both the ends of the capacitor 7, namely, to the series- connected four excitation windings 31∼34 through the switch 8b. When the switch 8a is opened and the switch 8b is closed, a direct current f2 flows from the DC power source 10 to the excitation windings 31∼34 to apply the non-alternating magnetic flux to a cooking vessel 4 to attract it to the excitation unit.
