Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a herbicide composition exhibiting synergistic effect to control weeds at a low rate of application by mixing two specific kinds of known active herbicide components. SOLUTION: (A) carfentrazone is used in combination with (B) glyphosate. The component B includes various salts such as metal salts and amine salts. The amount of the component B is preferably about 0.1-1,000 pts.wt., especially 1-100 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of the component A. The application rate of the active component is about 0.1-1,000g/ha, preferably 10-100g/ha for the component A and about 10-10,000g/ha, preferably 100-1,000g/ha for the component B. The component A promotes the development of the herbicidal effect of the component B. The composition can be applied for the control of various weeds on non-crop land such as orchard, vacant land and forest and exhibits remarkable economic effect for the control of weeds. In the case of culturing various crops such as soybean, the composition is scattered before sowing to kill the existing grown weeds.

2. Description of the Related Art A wide variety of chemicals have been put into practical use from the research and development of herbicides over many years, and these herbicides have contributed to labor saving in weed control work and improvement in productivity of agricultural and horticultural crops. Even today, there is a demand for the development of new chemicals having better herbicidal properties. In particular, as an agricultural and horticultural herbicide, it is possible to control only the target weed selectively and at a low dose without damaging the cultivated crop. It is desirable to be able to
Existing drugs do not always meet this need.

[0003] Carfentrazone (generic name) has an excellent herbicidal effect at a low dose on various broadleaf weeds in foliar treatment compared to conventional herbicides, but is sufficient for growing grass weeds. The effect may not be obtained. On the other hand, glyphosate (common name) has already been used in practical use in the form of various salts, and is characterized by having an excellent foliage treatment effect. However, a high dose is required in the foliage treatment.

Next, when (A) and (B) are mixed,
The test example which showed the effect exceeding the effect expected from the effect of a single agent is shown. The synergistic herbicidal effect of the herbicide mixture can be explained as follows. That is, the individual active compounds often exhibit disadvantages in their herbicidal activities, respectively, in which case the herbicidal activity of the combination of the two active compounds is simply the sum of the activities of each of the two compounds ( This is referred to as synergism when it is greater than the expected activity). The expected activity of a particular combination of two herbicides can be calculated as follows. (Colby SR, Calculation of synergistic and antagonistic responses of herbicide combinations, Weed, Vol. 15, 20-22 (1967)).

The test was performed at the time of m. (A) is an appropriately prepared wettable powder, and (B) (generic name glyphosate) is diluted and mixed to a predetermined concentration using a commercially available water solvent. Further, 0.05% of Nippole is used as a spreading agent. Were mixed so that The spraying was performed using a spray gun at a spraying water amount of 5 liters / ha. Two weeks after spraying the chemical, the above-ground live weight of each weed was measured, and the inhibition rate (%) was determined by the following equation.
