Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sound-insulating wall which is light in weight, haw transparency and is capable of exhibiting sound-insulating performance to noises of a broad frequency range by varying the spacings of the gap parts formed by transparent plates facing each other according to sections. SOLUTION: This transparent sound-insulating wall is constituted by arranging plural sheets of the transparent plates so as to face each other apart prescribed spacings. The sound-insulating performance of the wall is exhibited by arbitrarily changing the spacings of the gap parts formed by at lest one set of the transparent plates facing each other. The rugged parts are merely necessitated to be formed on the inner surface of at least either of one set of the transparent plates facing each other and may be formed on both of two sheets of transparent plates or above. Namely, the transparent sound- insulating wall partially varying in the sapcings of the gap parts (c) is manufactured by arranging, for example, two sheets of the transparent plates (a), (a) made of polycarbonate so as to face each other and providing the inner surface of the one transparent plate (a) made of the polycarbonate with the rugged parts (b) varying in the height.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, asbestos slate boards and lightweight cellular concrete boards have been used as soundproofing boards for roads in terms of soundproofing effect. However, asbestos slate boards and lightweight aerated concrete boards are not transparent, making it difficult for the driver to see, and because of the heavy weight, the workability is poor and the support structure needs to be of high strength.
There are problems such as that the surface is easily stained by exhaust gas and the like, and it is difficult to remove the stain.

On the other hand, there is disclosed a transparent soundproof wall in which a plurality of transparent resin plates are fixed to face each other at a predetermined interval, for example, via spacers provided at a constant interval (see, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H11-157556). For example, JP-A-8-151703,

[0004] However, in the above-mentioned transparent soundproof wall, except for the spacer portion, the gaps between the opposing transparent resin plates are equally spaced in all portions, so that the soundproof effect against noise of a specific frequency is obtained. However, there is a problem that the soundproofing effect cannot be exhibited for a wide range of noise from low frequency to high frequency.
