Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a stainless steel strip which has a surface having superior gloss close to specular gloss and free from flaws by applying degreasing and pickling treatments to a cold rolled stainless steel strip prior to continuous annealing. CONSTITUTION:At the time of applying continuous annealing to a cold rolled stainless steel strip 5, the strip 5 is first passed through a degreasing apparatus 7 consisting of an electrolytic cleaning tank and a water washing tank to undergo removal of rolling oil used at the time of cold rolling. Subsequently, the strip 5 is introduced into a pickling device 8 and passed, e.g. through an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid of 5% concentration, by which rolling wear particles formed on the surface of the stainless steel strip at the time of rolling are removed. Finally the steel strip is passed through a continuous annealing furnace 1, by which the stainless steel strip free from nonuniform gloss at the surface and having high gloss close to specular gloss can be obtained.

In the figure, a stainless steel strip 5 is connected to an inlet roller 2 disposed in an annealing furnace l. Exit roller 3. Furnace support roller 4a,
While being supported in a catenary-like manner by 4b and the like and running in the furnace, it is heated to a predetermined annealing temperature by a burner 6 provided on the side wall of the furnace. Here, as mentioned above, stainless steel products are required to have a highly uniform surface appearance without scratches, so the furnace support rollers 4a and 4b are made of ashest to prevent scratches from occurring on the steel strip during heat treatment. has been done.

By the way, rolling oil, rolling wear particles, etc. adhere unevenly to the surface of a stainless steel strip that has been cold rolled.
'If annealing is continued in this state, the surface oxidation reaction will proceed unevenly depending on the state of these attachments, resulting in patterns such as uneven gloss on the surface of the copper strip.

Therefore, as a method to solve the above problems,
The technique is disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 2-17138. In other words, this method involves uniformly applying oil to the surface of a stainless steel plate to which rolling oil and rolling wear powder have been unevenly adhered after cold rolling, and removing the rolling oil and rolling wear powder that were originally attached to the surface. It is to be uniformly dispersed on the top.

However, when the present inventors continuously annealed a stainless steel strip pretreated by the above method, it was confirmed that no uneven gloss occurred, but there were some scratches related to the important surface quality of the stainless steel strip. It was found that the occurrence of the disease was not completely resolved.

As a result of the inventors' experimental research, this scratch is caused by rolling abrasion powder adhering to the surface of the stainless steel strip.
It was found that the oxidized scale was taken into the surfaces of the rollers 4a and 4b and formed a nucleus, which caused oxidized scale to grow on the surfaces of the rollers 4a and 4b, which was generated when the stainless steel strip came into contact with the oxidized scale at a high temperature.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention provides a continuous annealing method for a cold rolled stainless steel strip in which pickling is performed as a pretreatment step for annealing when the cold rolled stainless steel strip is annealed in a continuous annealing furnace. That is,
Furthermore, it is desirable to perform degreasing treatment before acid washing.

Since this invention has the above-mentioned configuration, the stainless steel strip after cold rolling is first pickled, so that the rolling oil and rolling wear particles adhering to the surface are removed and the stainless steel strip is cleaned. By forming a smooth surface, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of scratches during annealing and heating, and also to prevent the occurrence of uneven gloss. Furthermore, if degreasing is performed before pickling treatment, staining and deterioration of the pickling solution can be significantly reduced.

Note that the same effect on product quality was obtained even when the stainless steel strip was pickled without degreasing and then continuously annealed. However, since the pickling solution (5% hydrochloric acid) is heavily contaminated and deteriorated by oil, and it is necessary to supply a large amount of new pickling solution, it is preferable to degrease the pickling solution first.
