Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep the beautiful appearance of the printing face of a print by forming a visible pattern layer capable of transmitting invisible light and plural code patterns for individually absorbing plural invisible rays having respectively different wavelengths in invisible rays on a base for reflecting invisible rays in a wide wavelength band. CONSTITUTION:The visible pattern layer 2 capable of transmitting infrared rays over a wide wavelength band and two 1st and 2nd code patterns, e.g. 1st and 2nd code pattern layers 3a, 3b, for absorbing infrared rays having respectively different wavelengths out of the infrared rays in the wide wavelength band are successively printed on the base 1 for reflecting infrared rays over the wide wavelength band to form a print. Thus, the visible pattern layer 2 is formed between the base 1 and the 1st and 2nd bar code pattern layers 3a, 3b and the layers 3a, 3b are arrayed in parallel or laminated on the face on which the visible layer 2 is printed. Consequently, multiprinting enable code patterns can be formed without lossing the beautiful appearance of respective pages of a publication.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Technical Field The present invention relates to a method for forming a code pattern such as a barcode pattern or a Carla code pattern attached to an article, a printed matter, and a reading device.

BACKGROUND ART In a POS system, a barcode pattern is optically read by a code reading device such as a light pen type. Such code patterns can carry control information for controlling various devices.

As an application of the code pattern, the video and audio information of articles in publications such as encyclopedias and instruction manuals recorded on a recording medium such as a video disk is played back as video and audio via a recording medium playback device. Information systems are also being considered to supplement the content of such publications.

[Claims] (1) A visible pattern layer that transmits the invisible light, a first code pattern layer that absorbs only one of the invisible lights, and a first code pattern layer that absorbs only one of the invisible lights, on a base material that reflects a plurality of invisible lights of different wavelengths. A code pattern forming method comprising forming a second code pattern layer that absorbs only the other invisible light. (2) The code pattern forming method according to claim 1, wherein the visible pattern layer and the first and second code pattern layers are formed on the base material in this order. (3) The code pattern forming method according to claim 1, wherein the first and second code pattern layers and the visible pattern layer are formed in this order on the base material. (4) The code pattern forming method according to claim 1, wherein the base material is made of one material selected from the group consisting of paper, metal, and resin. (5) The code pattern forming method according to claim 1, wherein the invisible light is infrared light. (6) The code pattern forming method according to claim 1, wherein the visible pattern layer does not contain carbon pigment. (7) The code pattern forming method according to claim 1, wherein the first and second code pattern layers contain carbon pigment. (8) A base material that reflects a plurality of invisible lights having different wavelengths, a visible pattern layer formed on the base material that transmits the invisible light, and a layer that absorbs only one of the invisible lights. 1. A printed matter comprising one code pattern layer and a second code pattern layer that absorbs only the other of the invisible light. (9) The printed matter according to claim 8, wherein the visible pattern layer is formed between the base material and the first and second code pattern layers.
