After making dried Chinese quince into a pasty state, part of liquid essence is discharged and astringency is removed so that a product having much less astringency can be produced. The prepared product of Chinese quince is used as food, has softening action on the skin, protecting action on the skin, etc., and is useful as cosmetic, external preparation, etc.
