Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an agricultural and horticultural pot for transplanting composed of a film prepared by laminating polyvinyl alcohol-based thin films having short and thin cracks and mutually bonding the thin films and having breathability, water permeability, water retention characteristics and durability. CONSTITUTION:For example, one or more kinds of polyvinyl alcohol with >=1400 average polymerization degree and >=98.5% saponification degree are blended with a plasticizer (e.g., glycerin) as necessary, dispersed into water or dissolved into water and then formed into a film. The resultant polyvinyl alcohol-based film 10 is subjected to slitting, stretching and heat treatment to be formed into a thin film having cracks (A) of a short and thin shape and the obtained thin films are laminated and bonded to prepare a laminated film. The objective pot is composed of the above-mentioned laminated film and can improve growth rate of seedlings without soil-overflow or root projection in potting.

However, in recent years, it has become common practice to transfer seedlings to pots during transplantation, which is a so-called hoisting operation. Kechiage has the advantage of requiring less planting, which reduces labor and makes seedling management easier. The necessary functions of the transplant pot used in this case are air permeability, water permeability, and water retention, and clay pots have traditionally been used. However, although clay pots are porous and breathable and allow for good root growth, they have the drawbacks of being easily damaged and expensive.

Alternatives include plastic pots and peat moss pots, but plastic pots are not breathable and can cause rooting if overwatered. In addition, beet pots have a strong water absorption and water retention capacity and are humid, which causes the roots to grow longer and become soft, causing roots to gather on the pot wall and form a root band, which eventually causes aging and poor growth.

In order to solve these problems,
No. 25 proposes a transplant pot in which thermoplastic synthetic fiber webs are partially thermocompressed and bonded. The pot has excellent air permeability and water permeability, but because it uses thermoplastic synthetic fibers, it has poor water retention and requires frequent watering.

Polyvinyl alcohol having a large number of small striations as used in the present invention (hereinafter polyvinyl alcohol is abbreviated as PVA)
The thin film preferably has an average degree of polymerization of 1400 or more and a saponification change of 3.
Aqueous dispersion or aqueous solution of at least 8.5% PVA (at least one type and, if necessary, a plasticizer such as glycerin or polyalkylene ether) is prepared by casting, coagulation, or extrusion. It is obtained by slitting, stretching, heat-treating, and widening a PVA-based thin film obtained by forming a film by a known film-forming method such as the method.

Any known method may be used to form a PVA-based thin film having a large number of fat-like small fissures by slitting, stretching, heat-treating, and widening the PVA-based thin film. For example, a PVA thin film containing PVA with an average degree of polymerization of 1750 and a degree of saponification of 99.5% and 10% by weight of glycerin as a plasticizer is slit into appropriate widths with a Cameron cutter or razor blade, and then 5.5% at 180°C or higher. Stretched to more than twice the original size, then heat treated at 200°C or more, with a widening ratio of 1.0 to 2.
You can get it out by expanding it twice. The stretching method can be easily carried out, for example, by using rollers or a chamber under heating and utilizing the speed difference between two sets of pinch rolls, and if necessary, multistage stretching of two or more stages may be performed. .

Further, the timing of the heat treatment is usually 20 to 60 seconds. Furthermore, any known method may be used to widen the width, and it can be easily carried out using a cross guider one-way method, a spring method, or the like. A PVA thin film with an average degree of polymerization of 1400 or less and a saponification degree of 98.5% or less is unfavorable in terms of practical dimensional stability and strength of the resulting PVA thin film, which has a large number of striped small fissures. . In addition, if the stretching temperature is below 180°C, there will be a problem in terms of stretchability, and if the stretching ratio is lower than 5.5 times, the splitting properties and the strength of the PVA thin film with many striped small tears will be reduced. Practical dimensional stability is poor, which is not preferable. Furthermore, if the heat treatment temperature is lower than 200°C, the heat setting effect will be poor and the practical dimensional stability will be poor, which is also not preferred.

A PVA thin film with many striped small cracks is laminated on the warp and t! 1 may be any known method. For example, after applying a PVA-based binder to a PVA-based thin film having striped small cracks running in the warp direction by a known method such as a roll coater method or a dipping method,
Lamination can be easily performed by supplying a PVA-based thin film having small streak-like fissures perpendicular to the weft direction and drying it.

(Function) Since the present invention uses a PVA-based material, it is extremely resistant to UV deterioration and has excellent weather resistance. In addition, the PVA-based thin film is stretched after slitting to improve the molecular arrangement, and is heat treated. This eliminates moisture absorption and significant swelling when absorbing water, which are inherent disadvantages of PVA-based materials, and imparts practical strength, resulting in excellent durability.

That is, the transmittance of heat rays is extremely low, for example, about 1/4 that of polyethylene, and about 1/4 that of polyvinyl chloride, which has relatively high moisture retention.
Since only 2 can pass through, it has high heat retention. Also,
When the temperature rises rapidly during the day, the water-retaining properties of the PVA material prevent excessive temperature rise due to the latent heat of evaporation from the sides.

Next, cyclamen seedlings were raised using the transplant pot of the present invention and a commercially available pot. Cyclamen prefers a climate that is cool in summer and warm in winter, and the optimum growing temperature is 20°C during the day and 12-13°C at night. Diseases often occur when the temperature exceeds 25°C and it is humid. This is what is said to happen.
