Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operation convenience and the safety of an ironing device by providing a reader to read the fiber indication of clothing, etc., for a placing table, providing a notifying means for a case when a base temperature is higher than a temperature set by the reader, and further manually switching the setting. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of an ironing body 4 is set to a temperature suitable for clothing to be ironed, and ironing can be executed under that suitable state by making the ironing body 4 into a conduction possible state through a feeding part using a cord housed in a mounting base 7 and after that approaching the fiber indication of the clothing to be ironed to a reader 13. Next, when different clothing is to be ironed, new setting is completed in the same manner, it is made unnecessary to move a high-temperature iron for each setting, and a burn, etc., are prevented. When a newly set temperature is lower than the temperature of the base, since it takes some time until the temperature of the base lowers, this is notified to a user in order to call the user's attention, and the damage of the clothing is prevented. It is also made possible to manually switch the setting of the temperature by considering that a piece of protecting cloth might be used in ironing.
