The stored materials that can be stored in this storage tank include, for example, all kinds of granular materials such as raw materials for steel making such as coal, coke, lime, pellets, and iron ore, and grains such as rice and wheat.

Structurally, it has a ring girder 1 in the center, a vertical wall 2', and an inclined wall 2. Furthermore, the stress of the rectangular shape is treated with reinforcing material 3 and hanging material 4.

For square shapes (including polygons), there are no hoop tensions designed, and stress is handled by bending the reinforcing material 3 and tensioning the hanging material 4. Therefore, in structural analysis, all of these reinforcing materials and hanging materials are verification is required, which is very troublesome.

In addition, it is also difficult to fit the plates together, especially on the inclined wall 2. Square shapes do not have the same problems as circular shapes, but they require a large number of pieces and require a lot of effort, and they usually require a larger amount of steel than circular shapes of the same capacity and scale.

Tank walls (structural materials) have been protected by providing lining materials (secondary members). In other words, although it is economical to use both structural members and secondary members, it has not been done.

The upper frame 8 and the plurality of tank walls 7 are connected to a ring garter 10.
Attach it to the top of the upper frame and use it as a hanging material 11
A lower frame 12 and a plurality of tank walls 7' are attached to the lower part of a ring girder 10 to form a lower frame, and the ring girder and the frame and the frames are joined with bolts 14 and nuts 15, and the bolts 14 are covered with a cover 13. This is a cage-shaped storage tank made of polygonal steel.

It has a polygonal frame structure with pillars 9 made of shaped steel etc.
By attaching the tank wall with bolts, structurally,
It can be assumed that the column 9 made of CT section steel and the tank walls 7, 7' are connected by pins. Therefore, considering deformation (bulge), it approximates a circular shape, and although it is a rectangular shape, it can be processed by hoop tension in terms of stress analysis. Also,
By freely replacing the tank wall, tank wall replacement and local repairs can be easily handled in terms of maintenance.

This not only protects the frame from abrasion, strengthens the frame joint, and increases durability.
Since the head of the bolt 4 does not protrude into the tank, there is an effect that the contents stored in the tank will not be damaged by the bolt 14.
