2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, purification of air by solid materials,
As a method for removing malodor, physical deodorization: a method of reversibly physically adsorbing malodorous molecules to the fine structure of a porous material such as an inorganic deodorant (zeolite, silica, alumina) or activated carbon, chemical deodorization: solid Acid-base reaction with malodorous molecules on the surface, addition reaction, polymerization reaction, by introducing a functional group that causes a chemical reaction such as ionic bond, a method of removing by reacting irreversibly with malodorous molecules in the air, ozone Deodorizing catalyst ... After adsorbing malodorous molecules on the active sites on the catalyst surface,
A method of passing ozone over the surface, decomposing ozone at active points, and oxidatively decomposing malodorous molecules by utilizing the oxidizing property of ozone, combustion oxidation catalyst .... Heat to 200-400 ° C,
Various methods such as a method of utilizing oxygen in the air to cause a catalytic reaction accompanied by oxidative decomposition have been proposed. As the shape of these solid materials, powder and granular deodorizing materials have been conventionally used in the form of moving beds and fixed beds. Further, in recent years, a device for reducing the pressure loss of air has been devised by using a deodorizing material formed in a honeycomb shape. This honeycomb-shaped compact has less pressure loss than conventional powder and granular deodorant materials used in moving bed and fixed bed form, and is excellent in handling during assembly and replacement. (For example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2-126856)

However, the conventional honeycomb molded body has the advantages of low pressure loss and excellent handling, but on the other hand, the contact efficiency between air and the surface of the honeycomb molded body is low. It is lower than conventional powder and granular deodorizing materials, and there is a problem that the efficiency of removing malodor decreases. Moreover, the processing capacity of the ordinary honeycomb-shaped molded body is extremely reduced when it exceeds a certain space velocity SV [= processing air volume (L / hr) / honeycomb capacity (L)], so that deodorization of a local space where a bad odor occurs But there was a disadvantage.
In addition, the conventional honeycomb-shaped molded body has a narrow deodorizing range due to restrictions in terms of composition. For example, even if the alkaline malodor has a deodorizing effect, the acidic malodor has no deodorizing effect.

In the figure, a large number of cell spaces 2a of the honeycomb deodorizing base material 2 are filled with the deodorizing material 3 different from the honeycomb deodorizing material 1. At this time, in order to prevent the deodorizing material 3 from flowing out, it is desirable that a filtering material such as a non-woven fabric 4 is provided at the entrance and exit of the cell space 2a. In order to further improve the deodorizing performance, as shown in FIG. 2, one honeycomb deodorizing base material 2 may be filled with a plurality of types of deodorizing materials 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D. The deodorizing performance can be expressed in a wider range. (Examples 1 and 2) Z was added to an inorganic material having a cordierite composition.
A base material containing 20% of nO was extruded into 60 cells / inch 2 and fired at 750 ° C., 90 mm × 90 mm ×
A 30 mm honeycomb molded body was obtained. Further, this honeycomb-shaped molded body was impregnated with a 25% zinc chloride aqueous solution and then dried at 70 ° C. for 2 hours to prepare an inorganic honeycomb deodorizing base material.
Next, a non-woven fabric is attached to the end face of the inorganic honeycomb deodorizing base material on the cell outlet side as a filter material for preventing outflow, and thereafter, 20 g of granular activated carbon (average particle size 0.5 mm, specific surface area 1000 m) from the cell inlet in the opposite direction. 2 / g) was uniformly filled in each cell space, and then a non-woven fabric was attached to the cell outlet to form Example 1.

It was adjusted to generate ppm ozone. Under this condition, the odor intensity was evaluated by collecting the odor in the odor bag in the odor analysis out at SV = 125,000 hours by 10 panelists, and the measurement results shown in Table 4 below were obtained. In addition, for the odor collection, after the ozone decomposition treatment, sampling was performed in a state where ozone generation was stopped, and Example 5 was used as Comparative Example 5.
The above materials were arranged in series. (Examples 6 and 7) Activated carbon honeycomb 60 used in Example 3
Example 6 was a case where 10 g (0.7 mm particle size) of a granular oxidation catalyst containing Pt as a catalytically active component was uniformly filled in each cell space of the cell / inch 2 . Then, at the time of evaluation, the portion of the sample 7 of the deodorization rate measuring device of FIG. 3 was heated by the heater 11 to about 120 ° C.
