されたエアバッグ本体とを備えるエアバッグ装置に関す

て固着され、所定の条件のもとでガス発生器が作動した
場合にガスが瞬間的にエアバッグ本体3内に流入し、エ
アバッグ本体3を瞬時に膨張させるようになされてい
る。またガス発生器2よりのガス主流(矢印aで示す)
がガス注入口4よりエアバッグ本体3のフロント側パネ
ル3aに衝突し、エアバッグ本体3が乗員側に略々一方
向に膨張するのを防ぐために吊りベルト7がエアバッグ
本体3の内側に取付けられ、この吊りベルト7の端部7
aがエアバッグ本体3のリア側パネル3bと共にベース
プレート1にリテーナ5を介して固着されるようになさ

が作動した際に吊りベルト7に加えられた荷重がリア側
パネル3bに直接伝達され、リア側パネル3bに吊りベ
ルト7による部分的な負荷が加えられ、エアバッグ本体
3のリア側パネル3bのガス注入口4付近を破損させる
虞れを有していた。また吊りベルト7の端部7aの固着
状態はエアバッグ本体3の内側であるので外部より確認
することができない欠点を有し、またエアバッグ本体3
を折り畳んで収納した状態で別途形成したカバー部材に
より被覆しなければならず、部品点数が増大し、組付作

アバッグ本体19の前方への膨出を有効に規制すること
ができるものである。尚同一のエアバッグ本体19に異
なる長さのベルト37を有する形状規制部材35を設け
ることにより異なる膨出量のエアバッグ装置を得ること
