[Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to a band sealing liquid for hard gelatin capsules. More particularly, the present invention relates to a band sealing fluid used to more completely bond the normally mechanically locked hard gelatin capsule body and cap. [Prior Art] To completely bond the body and cap of, for example, a hard gelatin capsule filled with a liquid or slurry-like substance, it has heretofore been possible to band seal the seam using an aqueous solution of gelatin of the same composition. It was considered the most desirable and common thing. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, during band sealing, the sealing liquid will adhere to the surface of the formed and sufficiently dried gelatin capsule. At this time, a large amount of water contained in the sealing liquid transfers to the dry capsule and softens it. On the band sticker,
Since a subsequent drying step is essential, the softened capsules are dried in a distorted state, resulting in a brittle structure and a tendency for cracks to occur in the seal area. [Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention attempts to solve the above problems by adding glycerin to the sealing liquid. That is, according to the present invention, it contains 15 to 30% gelatin, 1 to 10% glycerin, and 15 to 25% ethanol, with the balance being water (preferably purified water).
A band sealing liquid for hard gelatin capsules is provided. Glycerin is commonly used as a plasticizer for soft gelatin capsules. However, hard gelatin capsules currently on the market usually do not contain it. (However, the Japanese Pharmacopoeia allows it to be added.) The concentration of gelatin may be within the above range, but it is usually somewhat lower than jelly for capsule manufacturing, and the best is around 22% by weight. preferable. If the concentration of glycerin added is lower than 1% by weight, the expected effect will not be exhibited, and the higher the concentration, the greater the cracking prevention effect. However, if it exceeds 10%, it will take time for the sealing liquid to dry, and if it is left standing under high temperature and high humidity conditions,
The generation of acetaldehyde may be accelerated and the decay may be delayed. Therefore, it is usually about 3 to 7% by weight, and most preferably about 5% by weight. Ethanol has antifoaming and antiseptic effects, but it is also useful for adjusting the viscosity of the sealing liquid during sealing work and accelerating drying, and is usually added in an amount of 15 to 25% by weight, preferably 20% by weight. If it exceeds 20%, the sealing liquid will change significantly over time due to volatilization during continuous production, making it difficult to maintain sealing conditions, and if a mixed solution of water and ethanol is replenished, the gelatin may become cloudy and gel. However, unlike other organic solvents, ethanol poses no food hygiene problems even if it remains. [Effect] By adding glycerin, the migration of water in the sealing liquid to the capsule portion was significantly reduced, and the occurrence of distortion, embrittlement, and cracking of the capsule was reduced. This is supported by the following description of examples, including control examples. [Example] A sealing liquid having the formulation shown in the table below was prepared by a conventional method, and a sealing experiment was conducted using a high-speed band sealing machine manufactured by Nippon Elanco, and the test results (dry product, cracking incidence) shown in the table were obtained. .

The time required for all capsules to dry to the extent that the seals do not stick and all capsules slide off when the vat is tilted. (2) Occurrence of cracking: After sealing, the dried capsule was placed horizontally and a static pressure load of 8 kg was gradually applied to the entire capsule using a pressure testing machine manufactured by Tester Sangyo to confirm the occurrence of cracks in the sealed portion. (3) Filling: Fallen raw oil, 80, beeswax, 5, and polyoxyl stearate 40, 15% by weight each
Composition of. (4) Seal liquid temperature: 50℃, viscosity: 370cps. From the above results, the effect of preventing cracking starts to become noticeable when glycerin is added in an amount of 3% by weight or more, and the effect of preventing cracking becomes almost complete when adding 5% by weight. ,
Moreover, it was confirmed that drying properties were not impaired. [Effects] As described above, according to the present invention, a simple operation of adding glycerin to the band sealing liquid makes it possible to completely adhere the capsule seams using the sealing liquid. In addition, it has good drying properties after sealing, enables high-speed mechanical processing, and has the industrial effect of being less likely to crack the capsule.
