Abstract

PURPOSE:To save time until solving of abnormality and to carry out efficient copying operation by solving abnormality without displaying abnormality when the detected abnormality is one without any liability or when it is an abnormality without any safety problems. CONSTITUTION:Whether any abnormality is generated or not is judged based on signal from an abnormality detection means 1, and the abnormality data is stored in an abnormality data storing means 2C according to the judged result. Then, the liability of the abnormality is judged based on the abnormality data stored in the abnormality data storing means 2C, and the safety of the abnormality is judged by a safety judgement means 2e according to the judged result. Furthermore, when the detected abnormality is one without any liability and is an abnormality without any safety problems, the abnormality is controlled to be solved without carrying out abnormality display. Thus, a state can be returned to one where copying can be carried out without carrying out abnormality display, and a greatly efficient copying operation with savings in time can be carried out.

<Prior art> Conventionally, when an abnormality occurs during a copying operation, it is assumed that the abnormality is accidental, has no particular tendency, and does not cause any safety problems such as smoke or ignition. Also, the copying operation was stopped, an abnormality was displayed, and the abnormality was canceled by a servine man or the like operating a key on the operation panel.

<Problem to be solved by the invention> In the above-mentioned conventional system, even if the abnormality is an accidental one and there is no safety problem, the copying operation is stopped and an abnormality is displayed, and a service person etc. can clear the abnormality. Since it was not possible to resume copying until the process was completed, it was very time-consuming and it was not possible to carry out efficient copying work.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The present invention has been made in view of the above drawbacks, and includes an abnormality detection means for detecting an abnormality during a copying operation, and when an abnormality is detected by the abnormality detection means, the copying operation is stopped. In a copying machine configured to stop operation and display an abnormality, an abnormality occurrence determination means determines whether an abnormality has occurred based on a signal from the abnormality detection means, and a determination by the abnormality occurrence determination means. Abnormality data storage means for storing abnormality data according to a result; Abnormality tendency determination means for determining an abnormality tendency based on the abnormality data stored in the abnormality data storage means; and Abnormality tendency determination means. an abnormality safety determination means for determining the safety of the abnormality according to the determination result by the abnormality safety determination means; and an abnormality state is canceled without displaying an abnormality according to the determination result by the abnormality safety determination means, and the abnormal state is set to a copy standby state. and an abnormality canceling means for resetting the abnormality, and if the detected abnormality has no tendency and does not pose a safety problem, control is performed to cancel the abnormality without displaying an abnormality display. It provides copying machines.

The copying process will now be explained. When copying is started, the photoreceptor 13 rotates in the direction of the arrow, and the surface of the photoreceptor is first uniformly charged by the charger 14. Subsequently, the light emitted from the original document is irradiated with photo-sound by the exposure lamp 15a, and an image is formed on the photoreceptor 13 via the optical lens 15b, thereby forming an electrostatic latent image. Toner is applied to the electrostatic latent image by a developing device 16 to make it visible. The visualized image is transferred to a sheet of paper conveyed to a transfer section at the timing of copying. The transferred paper is peeled off from the photoreceptor 13 and then conveyed to the fixing device section 24, where it is fixed under heat and pressure and then discharged to the paper discharge tray 25.

First, when the power is turned on, warm-up is performed before starting copying in step n+. When the warm-up is completed, the process moves to step n2, and the printer enters a standby state in which copying can be performed. Here, when the original to be copied is placed on the original table and the copy button is pressed, copying is started, and copying is performed according to the above-mentioned copying cycle.

If an abnormality occurs in the exposure apparatus due to external noise or the like during the copying operation and the exposure apparatus is stopped, the process proceeds to step n3, where the abnormality occurrence determining means 2a determines whether or not an abnormality has occurred. A determination is made (specifically, signal distortion is removed between the control unit and the exposure device).
If it is determined that there is an abnormality, the process advances to step n5 and the copying operation is stopped. The process then proceeds to step n6, where data such as the cause of the abnormality and the number of times it has occurred are stored in the abnormality data storage means 2c. If the above abnormality has occurred before, the data is rewritten and stored. Next, the process proceeds to step n7, where it is determined whether or not the abnormality that has occurred has a tendency to occur many times based on the data stored in the abnormality data storage means 2c. It is determined by the determining means 2e. If it is determined that the abnormality has a tendency, the process proceeds to step n9, where the abnormality display control means 2g transmits a signal for displaying the abnormality to the display section, and the abnormality is displayed. If it is determined that the abnormality has no tendency, the process proceeds to step n8, where it is determined whether or not the abnormality that has occurred has a safety problem (there is a risk of smoke or ignition). This is carried out in the determining means 2e. If it is determined that there is a safety problem, the process proceeds to step n9, and an abnormality is displayed in the same manner as in the case of abnormalities with the above tendency. If it is determined that it is abnormal, step nl.

Then, a jam display signal is transmitted from the abnormality release control means 2f, and a jam is displayed on the display section. This means that if the copying machine stops due to an error during copying, paper may remain in the copying machine.
], it is not possible to restore the copyable state unless the paper is removed. However, before the paper is fed, the process may return to step n2 without indicating a jam. Then, when the paper in the copying machine is collected in step nll,
The state is automatically returned to the copy standby state (step n2) in which copying is possible. Therefore, copying can be continued without having to wait for maintenance by a service person.
