Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a steering vibration restraining device in which a resilient member is used in each of necessary parts so as to reduce the cost thereof, and the coupling between a mass member and the resilient member is enhanced so as to stabilize the operation. CONSTITUTION:A columnar resilient member 22 is disposed in each of locking holes 23a formed in a mass member 23, having a locking protrusion (forward end part) 26 fitted in the locking hole 23a. Accordingly, the mass member 23 may be attached to the resilient members 22 without using vulcanization and adhesion as conventionally used. That is, the mass member 23 may be firmly supported by the resilient members 22 without being vulcanized and l bonded. Since the mass member 23 is integrally incorporated with a damping protrusion 28 projected from the outer periphery of the mass member 23, the damping protrusion 28 at first impinges upon the mass member 23 so as to serve as a damping member. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent a peripheral equipment from being damaged. Further, the resilient members 23 are attached each for each locking hole 23a, but it is not provided at unnecessary positions, it is possible to advantageously reduce the cost.

The mass body 7 is a thick rectangular metal plate, and has a round hole 5 for mounting provided in the base plate 5 described above.
A round hole 7a and a small hole 7b are provided at positions corresponding to the small hole 5a and the small hole 5b. This is a through hole for use in attaching the base plate 5 to the steering shaft 1 and the attachment member 4 as described above. Further, the outer circumferential portion is formed to have a thin wall thickness, and is bonded to the inside of the upper portion 6a of the rubber body 6 covering this portion by vulcanization adhesion. The vibration suppressing device 8 thus formed is covered by a case 11 and stored in the center of the steering wheel 1. In such conventional technology, vibrations of the steering shaft 1 are suppressed by the mass body 7 vibrating due to vibrations transmitted through the steering shaft 1 during driving, etc. Even if it vibrates, the mass body 7
The rubber body 6 covering the outer periphery of the case 11 acts as a cushioning material to prevent damage to the inner surface of the case 11 and peripheral devices.

However, since the rubber body 6 protects the entire circumference of the mass body 7, it is used in unnecessary places, which is disadvantageous in terms of cost. In addition, mass body 7
is bonded to the inside of the upper part 6a of the rubber body 6 by vulcanization adhesive, but if the adhesive should peel off, the mass body 7 can be held by only the clamping force of the very thin upper part 6a covering the outer periphery. Because it has to be held, excessive force is applied to this part, making it susceptible to deterioration.

Effects of the Invention As explained above, the steering vibration suppressing device for a vehicle according to the present invention has a plurality of locking holes formed in the mass body, and a columnar elastic body is arranged for each locking hole. At the same time, since the tip of the elastic body is fitted into the locking hole, the mass body can be attached to the elastic body without vulcanization bonding as in the conventional case. That is, since the mass body is firmly supported by the elastic body without vulcanization adhesion, peeling does not occur and adversely affect the elastic body. Moreover, since each elastic body is integrally formed with a buffer protrusion that protrudes from the outer periphery of the mass body, even when the mass body vibrates, the buffer protrusion hits first and acts as a buffer. Therefore, it does not damage peripheral equipment, and one elastic body is installed independently for each locking hole, so it is not installed where it is not needed, which is advantageous in terms of cost. .
