However, this method requires manual work by an operator, and requires successive cleaning of the plate cylinders of a plurality of printing units constituting a printing press, which is labor intensive and time consuming. Additionally, solvent vapor is often inhaled during work, which is unfavorable from a sanitary standpoint. Furthermore, since it is a manual process, more solvent is often used than necessary, leading to problems such as increased costs.

In the above calibration, the impression cylinder safety bar is located in front of the nip between the plate cylinder and the impression cylinder during printing, and acts to prevent fingers, etc. from getting caught between the two, and when cleaning the plate cylinder after printing is completed. The cleaning solvent is sprayed onto the plate cylinder from the solvent injection nozzle to clean the plate cylinder. In this way, automatic cleaning of the plate cylinder becomes possible. Furthermore, since the impression cylinder safety bar is provided with a solvent injection function, there is no need to provide a separate solvent injection means, and the structure of the printing unit is simplified.

Further, as shown in FIG. 3, along the longitudinal direction of the impression cylinder safety bar 11, a plurality of solvent injection nozzles 12 are provided which communicate with the internal solvent passage. The solvent injection nozzle 12 may be formed by simply making a small hole in the circumferential surface of the impression cylinder safety bar 11, or may be formed by attaching a commercially available injection nozzle. As shown in FIG. 1, the solvent injection nozzle 12 is arranged at a position where it can inject a solvent onto the plate cylinder 1 when the impression cylinder 9 is separated from the plate cylinder 1. As shown in FIG. 3, a solvent supply pipe including a flexible hose 13, a valve 14, a pump 15, etc. is connected to one end of the impression cylinder safety bar 11. In addition, the solvent supply piping includes a blower 16,
An air supply pipe including a valve 17 is connected.

The supplied cleaning solvent is sprayed onto the plate cylinder 1 from the solvent injection nozzle 12 to clean the plate cylinder. After spraying the plate cylinder to some extent, the supply of cleaning solvent is stopped. On the other hand, the ink pump 5 of the ink circulation system is driven to supply the cleaning solvent accumulated at the bottom of the ink pan 2 between the fine print roller 3 and the plate cylinder 1.
Rough cleaning of the plate cylinder is also performed by rubbing the plate cylinder with the polisher roller 3. Rough cleaning using the fine print roller 3 and the ink pump 5 continues even after the injection from the impression cylinder safety bar 11 is stopped.

Clean the area. At the beginning of this rinsing cleaning, the finessing roller 3 is pressed against the plate cylinder 1, and then the finessing roller 3 is separated from the plate cylinder 1, and the rinsing cleaning is continued.

Alternatively, the solvent may be supplied to the impression cylinder safety bar 11 by means of a head. Furthermore, in the above embodiment, rough cleaning is performed by pressing the finesse roller against the plate cylinder and rubbing the two together, but the rough cleaning by the finesse roller is omitted, and all cleaning is carried out.
This may be done by spraying a cleaning solvent from the impression cylinder safety bar 11. However, it is preferable to use a finesse roller as in the embodiment, since the amount of cleaning solvent used can be reduced.

As explained above, according to the present invention, the impression cylinder safety bar placed in front of the nip between the plate cylinder and the impression cylinder is provided with a cleaning solvent spraying function, so that the impression cylinder safety bar is provided with a cleaning solvent injection function. Cleaning solvent can be sprayed onto the plate cylinder from a bar to clean it, making it possible to clean all printing units at the same time without having to manually wipe the plate cylinder as required in the past. Become. Therefore, the plate cylinder cleaning operation becomes easy and simple, and the working time can be significantly shortened. Also, the operator can leave the printing unit during cleaning, and the working environment is improved. Furthermore, since the solvent injection nozzle is installed on the impression cylinder safety bar, the structure is simpler than when the solvent injection nozzle is provided separately from the impression cylinder safety bar, and no extra space is required, making the equipment more compact. It also has the effect of being able to
