図1は、本実施形態の回路装置100を含む表示装置20の構成例である。表示装置20はバックライト制御回路21とバックライト22と表示制御回路23と表示パネル24と回路装置100とを含む。
図4は、本実施形態の回路装置100の構成例である。回路装置100は、処理回路110とメモリー120とを含む。
図9は、本実施形態における制御方法の手順を示すフローチャートである。
Claims (14)
- 表示パネルと、複数の光源を有するバックライトとを含む表示装置に用いられる回路装置であって、
光源駆動値出力部と、
画素値出力部と、
を含み、
前記表示パネルの表示エリアが分割された複数の表示ゾーンの各表示ゾーンに対応して、前記複数の光源の各光源が設けられ、
前記光源駆動値出力部は、
前記複数の表示ゾーンの対象表示ゾーンにおける入力画像の強度画像を、前記複数の光源のうち前記対象表示ゾーンに対応する光源の光強度分布に基づいて補正することで、補正強度画像を求め、
前記補正強度画像において最大の補正強度値に基づいて、前記対象表示ゾーンに対応する光源の光源駆動値を求め、
前記画素値出力部は、
前記複数の光源の光源駆動値に基づいて前記入力画像の画素値を補正し、補正後の画素値を出力することを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1に記載の回路装置において、
前記光源駆動値出力部は、
前記強度画像の各画素における強度値を、前記光強度分布の前記各画素における係数に基づいて補正することで、前記補正強度画像の各画素における前記補正強度値を求めることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項2に記載の回路装置において、
前記光源駆動値出力部は、
前記強度画像の各画素における前記強度値を、前記光強度分布の前記各画素における前記係数により除算することで、前記補正強度画像の各画素における前記補正強度値を求めることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項2又は3に記載の回路装置において、
前記強度画像の前記各画素における前記強度値は、
前記入力画像の前記各画素における第1色成分、第2色成分及び第3色成分の輝度値のうち最大値であることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置において、
前記入力画像が入力され、前記入力画像から前記強度画像を求める入力画像処理部を含むことを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置において、
前記画素値出力部は、
前記各表示ゾーンについて求められた前記光源駆動値と、前記各表示ゾーンにおける前記光強度分布とに基づいて、前記バックライトが前記表示エリアを照明する明るさ分布を求めることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項6に記載の回路装置において、
前記画素値出力部は、
前記明るさ分布に基づいて前記入力画像の画素値を補正し、前記補正後の画素値を出力画像の画素値として出力することを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項6又は7に記載の回路装置において、
前記画素値出力部は、
前記明るさ分布を、前記入力画像の解像度より低解像で求めることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置において、
前記光強度分布を記憶するメモリーを含み、
前記光源駆動値出力部は、
前記メモリーに記憶された前記光強度分布に基づいて前記強度画像を補正することを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置において、
前記複数の光源の各光源は、LEDであり、
前記表示パネルは、液晶表示パネルであることを特徴とする回路装置。 - 請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置と、
前記バックライトと、
前記表示パネルと、
を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置を含むことを特徴とする電子機器。
- 請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の回路装置を含むことを特徴とする移動体。
- 表示パネルと、複数の光源を有するバックライトとを含み、前記表示パネルの表示エリアが分割された複数の表示ゾーンの各表示ゾーンに対応して前記複数の光源の各光源が設けられる表示装置の制御方法であって、
前記複数の表示ゾーンの対象表示ゾーンにおける入力画像の強度画像を、前記複数の光源のうち前記対象表示ゾーンに対応する光源の光強度分布に基づいて補正することで、補正強度画像を求め、
前記補正強度画像のうちの最も補正強度値が高い画素の前記補正強度値に基づいて、前記対象表示ゾーンに対応する光源駆動値を求め、
前記複数の光源の光源駆動値に基づいて前記入力画像の画素値を補正し、補正後の画素値を出力することを特徴とする制御方法。
