Description
上記本体部は、DSC曲線に表れるPEEKの結晶化を示す発熱ピークが、第1発熱ピークと、上記第1発熱ピークよりも高温側にある第2発熱ピークと、の2つである。
上記表層部は、上記本体部を覆い、DSC曲線に表れるPEEKの結晶化を示す発熱ピークが、上記第1発熱ピークよりも高温側にある第3発熱ピークのみである。
この一方で、このPEEK成形体では、分子量が低いPEEKが残された本体部において衝撃吸収性が維持されるため、表層部に加わる衝撃が本体部に吸収される。これにより、このPEEK成形体では、表層部に局所的に大きい応力が加わりにくくなるため、損傷の発生を更に抑制することができる。
上記PEEK成形体は、摺動部材として構成されてもよい。
上記PEEK成形体は、ギア部材として構成されてもよい。
この構成では、電子線の照射によって、表面を構成する表層部において平均分子量が低いPEEKの量を減少させることができる。
上記電子線を照射する工程では、上記成形体を加熱してもよい。
本発明は、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)の成形体であるPEEK成形体に関する。本発明では、PEEK成形体を構成するPEEKの分子量をコントロールすることで、PEEK成形体の性能の向上を図る。本発明の一実施形態では、PEEKの平均分子量を示差走査熱量測定(DSC)によって把握する。
(概略説明)
上記実施形態の実施例及び比較例について説明する。実施例1~6及び比較例では、PEEK成形体のサンプルを作製し、各サンプルについて評価を行った。実施例1~6及び比較例ではいずれも、原料PEEKとしてダイセル・エボニック製の「ベスタキープ(登録商標) 4000G」を用いた。
実施例1~3では、電子線の照射条件として、サンプル温度を一定とし、電子線の照射線量を相互に変化させた。具体的に、実施例1では照射線量を50kGyとし、実施例2では照射線量を100kGyとし、実施例3では照射線量を200kGyとした。また、実施例1~3ではいずれも、サンプル温度を室温とした。
実施例4~6では、電子線の照射条件として、電子線の照射線量を実施例2と同様とし、サンプル温度を実施例2から変化させた。具体的に、実施例4では温度を200℃とし、実施例5では温度を250℃とし、実施例6では温度を300℃とした。また、実施例4~6では、実施例2と同様に、照射線量を100kGyとした。

- 降温過程のDSC曲線に表れるPEEKの結晶化を示す発熱ピークが、第1発熱ピークと、前記第1発熱ピークよりも高温側にある第2発熱ピークと、の2つである本体部と、
前記本体部を覆い、降温過程のDSC曲線に表れるPEEKの結晶化を示す発熱ピークが、前記第1発熱ピークよりも高温側にある第3発熱ピークのみである表層部と、
を具備するPEEK成形体。 - 請求項1に記載のPEEK成形体であって、
前記表層部の厚みが50μm以上である
PEEK成形体。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のPEEK成形体であって、
摺動部材として構成される
PEEK成形体。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のPEEK成形体であって、
ギア部材として構成される
