Description

Claims (12)
- 懸濁剤の流動体内に懸濁した粒子を含有する懸濁剤と、前記懸濁剤を変更しかつ対象に前記懸濁剤を送達するための塞栓用マイクロカテーテル、を備えるセットであって、前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルは、近位壁端部、遠位壁端部、および前記近位壁端部と前記遠位壁端部の間を延在する内腔を有するチューブ状壁を備え、
前記内腔は、前記遠位壁端部の遠位流出口と、前記遠位流出口の近位の前記チューブ状壁に形成される複数の側面開口部を備え、
前記内腔の前記遠位流出口は、前記懸濁剤の流動体と前記懸濁した粒子の両方を通すことのできる形状および/またはサイズを有し、
前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルは、前記複数の側面開口部が前記懸濁した粒子の最小の直径未満の、約1,000ミクロン以下の幅を有するように特徴付けられ、それによって、前記対象に前記懸濁剤を送達する間、前記懸濁した粒子の通過を阻止しつつ、前記懸濁剤の流動体の通過を可能にし、それによって前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルが前記懸濁剤の流動特性および/または濃度を変更するように構成される、
セット。 - 前記複数の側面開口部は、前記チューブ状壁の区画の周囲および/または前記区画に沿って分布し、前記側面開口部は100ミクロン以下の最小断面寸法を有する、請求項1に記載のセット。
- 前記懸濁した粒子は固体の塞栓物質および/または微粒子塞栓剤を含有する、請求項1または請求項2に記載のセット。
- 前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルの前記複数の側面開口部は、約500ミクロン以下の最小断面寸法を有し、前記複数の側面開口部は、前記懸濁した粒子の通過を阻止するように、前記懸濁した粒子の最小の直径未満の幅を有する少なくとも1つのスリットを備える、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載のセット。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスリットは、前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルの長手方向の軸に平行にその長さで伸びる長手方向のスリットである、請求項4に記載のセット。
- 前記少なくとも1つのスリットは、前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルの長手方向の軸に垂直にその長さで伸びる円周方向のスリットである、請求項4に記載のセット。
- 前記塞栓用のマイクロカテーテルは、前記遠位流出口の近位の前記チューブ状壁に位置する近位流出口を備え、前記近位流出口の周囲の前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルの伸長を抵抗および/または防ぐように、前記近位流出口を横断して前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルの長手方向の軸に平行に延在したカテーテルの長さを限定するロッド状構成要素を備え、前記ロッド状構成要素は前記内腔の内側境界に一致して湾曲した、閉じたおよび/または開かれたリングの形態の側部延長部を備える、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載のセット。
- 前記塞栓用マイクロカテーテルは前記遠位流出口の近位に位置した流れ抑制機構を備え、かつ前記カテーテルの長手方向の軸に沿って前記懸濁した微粒子の水平速度成分を減少させるように、前記懸濁剤の流れを変更するように構成される、請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載のセット。
- 前記流れ抑制機構が前記遠位流出口の近位に位置した螺旋部を備え、前記螺旋部が前記懸濁した粒子の横方向の速度成分を増加させかつ前記懸濁した粒子の長手方向の速度成分を減少させるような形状および寸法を有し、あるいは、前記流れ抑制機構が前記内腔の内側境界から始まる少なくとも1つの半径方向の内方向への突起を備え、懸濁剤の流れを抑制するように構成され、前記少なくとも1つの半径方向の内方向への突起は複数の長手方向に離間して開いたおよび/または閉じたリング構成要素を含む、請求項8に記載のセット。
- 前記チューブ状壁の外径が4mm以下である、請求項1~9のいずれか一項に記載のセット。
- 前記複数の側面開口部を取り囲む壁部は、金属材料、硬質ポリマー材料、またはそれらの組合せによって作製され、あるいは前記壁部が放射線不透過性材料を含む、請求項1~10のいずれか一項に記載のセット。
- 前記複数の側面開口部を取り囲む壁部が金属コイルで作製されている、請求項1~11のいずれか一項に記載のセット。
