Description
本発明の実施形態1を図1から図10によって説明する。本実施形態では、液晶パネル(表示装置)10を構成するアレイ基板10Aについて例示する。なお、各図面の一部にはX軸、Y軸及びZ軸を示しており、各軸方向が各図面で示した方向となるように描かれている。また、図1,図3,図4,図5及び図6の上側を表側とし、下側を裏側とする。
本発明の実施形態2を図11によって説明する。この実施形態2では、上記した実施形態1に記載されたエッジ遮光部31を省略したものを示す。なお、上記した実施形態1と同様の構造、作用及び効果について重複する説明は省略する。
本発明の実施形態3を図12または図13によって説明する。この実施形態3では、上記した実施形態2から遮光部230の構成を変更したものを示す。なお、上記した実施形態2と同様の構造、作用及び効果について重複する説明は省略する。
本発明の実施形態4を図14から図17によって説明する。この実施形態4では、上記した実施形態1からエッジ遮光部331の構成を変更したものを示す。なお、上記した実施形態1と同様の構造、作用及び効果について重複する説明は省略する。
本発明は上記記述及び図面によって説明した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、例えば次のような実施形態も本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。
Claims (15)
- 液晶分子を含む液晶層と、
前記液晶層に電圧が印加されたときの前記液晶分子の配向方向が異なる複数のドメインと、
前記複数のドメインの境界に位置する配向境界部と、
前記液晶分子を配向させる配向膜と、
画素電極と、
前記画素電極に接続されていて前記配向境界部の少なくとも一部と重畳するよう配される接続部と、
前記接続部の一部に対して絶縁膜を介して一部が重畳するよう配されていて前記接続部との間に静電容量を形成する容量形成部と、を備え、
前記接続部及び前記容量形成部は、いずれも前記配向境界部の少なくとも一部に沿って延在方向に延在し、且つ互いに重畳する重畳部をそれぞれ有し、
前記接続部は、前記延在方向と交差する交差方向において前記接続部の重畳部と並んで設けられた、前記容量形成部と非重畳となる接続部側非重畳部を有し、
前記容量形成部は、前記交差方向において前記容量形成部の重畳部と並んで設けられた、前記接続部と非重畳となる容量形成部側非重畳部を有し、
前記接続部は、前記画素電極に接続される接続電極を有し、
前記接続部側非重畳部は、前記接続電極を基準として、前記延在方向について片側に延びる第1接続部側非重畳部と、前記延在方向について反対側に延びる第2接続部側非重畳部とを含み、
前記容量形成部側非重畳部は、前記接続電極と重畳する位置を基準として、前記片側に延びる第1容量形成部側非重畳部と、前記反対側に延びる第2容量形成部側非重畳部とを含み、
前記第1接続部側非重畳部と前記第1容量形成部側非重畳部とにおける前記交差方向の配置と、前記第2接続部側非重畳部と前記第2容量形成部側非重畳部とにおける前記交差方向の配置とは、互いに入れ替わる、
表示装置。 - 前記第1接続部側非重畳部と前記第2接続部側非重畳部とは、前記延在方向についての寸法が等しく、

- 前記画素電極は、長手状とされており、
前記接続部及び前記容量形成部は、前記延在方向が前記画素電極の長手方向と一致するよう設けられている請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記配向境界部は、前記延在方向に沿って延在していて前記接続部に対して重畳する第1配向境界部と、前記交差方向に沿って延在する第2配向境界部と、を含むよう構成されており、
前記交差方向に沿って延在し前記第2配向境界部に対して重畳するよう配される遮光部を備える請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記遮光部には、前記接続部と同じ導電膜により構成されていて前記接続部に連ねられる第1遮光部が含まれる請求項6記載の表示装置。
- 前記遮光部には、前記容量形成部と同じ導電膜により構成されていて前記容量形成部に連ねられるとともに前記第1遮光部の少なくとも一部に対して重畳するよう配される第2遮光部が含まれる請求項7記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1遮光部及び前記第2遮光部は、前記延在方向について互いに非重畳となる第2の非重畳部をそれぞれ有していて、前記交差方向について片側とその反対側とで前記第2の非重畳部における前記延在方向についての配置が入れ替わるよう設けられている請求項8記載の表示装置。
- 前記画素電極の外周縁部に含まれる縁部であって、当該縁部に直交し且つ前記画素電極の内側に向かう方位角方向が、前記液晶層に電圧が印加されたときの前記液晶層の厚さ方向における中央付近の前記液晶分子のチルト方向に対して鈍角をなす縁部の少なくとも一部に対して重畳するよう配されるエッジ遮光部を備える請求項1から請求項9のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記エッジ遮光部は、前記接続部と同じ導電膜により構成されていて前記接続部に連ねられる請求項10記載の表示装置。
- 前記接続部を有するスイッチング素子と、
前記延在方向に沿って延在し前記スイッチング素子に接続されて前記スイッチング素子を駆動する信号を伝送する走査配線と、を備えており、
前記エッジ遮光部は、前記走査配線の一部からなる請求項10記載の表示装置。 - 前記走査配線は、前記画素電極に対して絶縁膜を介して前記液晶層とは反対側に配される請求項12記載の表示装置。
- 前記配向境界部は、前記延在方向に沿って延在していて前記接続部に対して重畳する第1配向境界部と、前記交差方向に沿って延在する第2配向境界部と、を含むよう構成されており、
前記接続電極は、前記画素電極の一部に対して絶縁膜を介して重畳していて前記絶縁膜に開口形成されたコンタクトホールを通して前記画素電極に接続され、
前記接続電極は、前記第1配向境界部と前記第2配向境界部との交差位置に配されている請求項1から請求項13のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。 - 前記接続部を有するスイッチング素子と、
前記延在方向に沿って延在し前記スイッチング素子に接続されて前記スイッチング素子を駆動する信号を伝送する走査配線と、
前記交差方向に沿って延在し前記スイッチング素子に接続されて前記画素電極を充電する信号を伝送する画像配線と、を備えており、
前記容量形成部は、前記走査配線と同じ導電膜により構成され、前記接続部は、前記画像配線と同じ導電膜により構成される請求項1から請求項14のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
