Claims (21)

長手方向軸と、第1の側面を具える第1の側部と、第2の側面を具える第2の側部とを有する細長い平らな部材であって、前記第1の側面と第2の側面が反対向きであるように前記第1の側部と第2の側部が互いに表裏である細長い平らな部材、を具え、
前記細長い平らな部材が、送達カテーテルを通って目標血管部位に配置するための細長い拘束された構成と、三次元の拘束されていない構成とを有し、
前記三次元の拘束されていない構成において、前記細長い平らな部材が複数の連続するループとなり、前記細長い平らな部材が複数の各ループの間で前記細長い平らな部材の長手方向軸の周りに少なくとも部分的にねじられて、前記細長い平らな部材の方向および/または向きの変化に関わらず、前記第1の側面が各ループの外側を向いて、前記第2の側面が各ループの内側を向いて、
前記複数のループのうちの第1のループが第1の平面を規定し、前記第1のループに直接隣接するループが第2の平面を規定し、前記第1の平面と第2の平面とが65−95度の角度を形成することを特徴とする塞栓器具。 - 請求項1に記載の塞栓器具において、前記細長い平らな部材が、1以上の編組部材から形成された編組体を具えることを特徴とする塞栓器具。

- 請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の塞栓器具において、前記三次元の拘束されていない構成の重心を外側から見たときに、前記第1のループが湾曲している方向と前記隣接するループが湾曲している方向が反対であることを特徴とする塞栓器具。

- 動脈瘤を閉塞する塞栓器具において、当該塞栓器具が、
1以上の金属編組のフィラメントまたはワイヤから形成された細長い平らな編組体を具え、
前記細長い平らな編組体が、長手方向軸と、第1の側面を具える第1の側部と、第2の側面を具える第2の側部とを有しており、前記第1の側面と第2の側面とが反対向きであるように前記第1の側部と第2の側部が互いに表裏であり、
前記細長い平らな編組体が、送達カテーテルを通って動脈瘤内に配置するための細長い拘束された構成と、前記送達カテーテルから出て動脈瘤内に配置されたあとの三次元の拘束されていない構成とを有し、
前記三次元の拘束されていない構成において、前記細長い平らな編組体が複数の連続すループとなり、前記細長い平らな編組体が複数の各ループの間で前記細長い平らな編組体の長手方向軸の周りに少なくとも部分的にねじられて、前記細長い平らな編組体の方向および/または向きの変化に関わらず、前記第1の側面が各ループの外側を向いて動脈瘤の内壁の方に面し、前記第2の側面が各ループの内側を向いて、
前記複数のループのうちの第1のループが第1の平面を規定し、前記第1のループに直接隣接するループが第2の平面を規定し、前記第1の平面と第2の平面とが65−95度の角度を形成することを特徴とする塞栓器具。 - 請求項15に記載の塞栓器具において、前記細長い平らな編組体が、平坦な管状の編組体を具えることを特徴とする塞栓器具。
- 請求項15に記載の塞栓器具において、前記細長い平らな編組体が、単一層の平らなリボンの編組体を具えることを特徴とする塞栓器具。
- 請求項15乃至17のいずれか1項に記載の塞栓器具において、前記細長い平らな編組体を熱処理することで、前記三次元の拘束されていない構成が前記細長い平らな編組体に付与されており、前記細長い平らな編組体を、マンドレルから外向きに延びるそれぞれのポストの周りに交互の方向で巻くことによって、複数の連続するループが形成されていることを特徴とする塞栓器具。
- 請求項15乃至17のいずれか1項に記載の塞栓器具において、前記三次元の拘束されていない構成の重心を外側から見たときに、前記第1のループが湾曲している方向と前記隣接するループが湾曲している方向が反対であることを特徴とする塞栓器具。
- 請求項15乃至19のいずれか1項に記載の塞栓器具において、複数の前記連続するループが、少なくとも5つの連続するループを含むことを特徴とする塞栓器具。
- 請求項1または15に記載の塞栓器具において、前記三次元の拘束されていない構成では、前記細長い平らな部材は略球形であることを特徴とする塞栓器具。
