Description
[鏡面加工方法]
図1は、鏡面加工方法について説明する図である。図1Aは荒加工を示す図、図1Bは中仕上げ加工を示す図、図1Cは仕上げ加工を示す図である。本実施の形態では、フライス盤やマシニングセンタによって、ステンレス系等の難削材を材料とするワーク10に対して、超硬工具12による荒加工、スリット入りPCD工具14による中仕上げ加工、および、PCD工具16による仕上げ加工の3つの加工が行われることにより、ワーク10の表面を鏡面に仕上げる。
図2は、スリット入りPCD工具14の斜視図である。前述のように、スリット入りPCD工具14のボディ22の側面には、軸方向に平行に延びる溝24が4本形成されている。多結晶ダイヤモンドまたは立方晶窒化ホウ素により円柱状に形成されたボディ22の側面を、レーザ加工または放電加工を行うことにより、溝24が形成される。
中仕上げ加工を、超硬工具12、CBN工具36、スリット入りPCD工具14により行われた場合について比較する。
図7は、スリット入りPCD工具14の変形例を示す斜視図である。第1の実施の形態では、スリット入りPCD工具14のボディ22の側面に、軸方向に平行に延びる直線状の溝24が形成されていた。第1の実施の形態のスリット入りPCD工具14は、ワーク10の側面の加工に用いられる。ワーク10の天面や底面の加工を行なうために、図7に示すように、スリット入りPCD工具14のボディ22の軸方向端面に、直線状の溝42が形成されるようにしてもよい。
上記実施の形態から把握しうる技術的思想について、以下に記載する。
シャンク(21)の先端に多結晶ダイヤモンドまたは立方晶窒化ホウ素により形成された円柱部(22)が設けられ、前記円柱部に直線状に延びる溝が設けられることにより形成された切れ刃(26)を有する。これにより、中仕上げ加工時の加工効率を向上させることができる。

Claims (2)
- ワークを鏡面加工する鏡面加工工具であって、
シャンクの先端に多結晶ダイヤモンドまたは立方晶窒化ホウ素により形成された円柱部が設けられ、前記円柱部に直線状に延びる溝が設けられることにより形成された切れ刃を有し、
前記溝の幅と前記切れ刃のマージン幅との比は1対9である、鏡面加工工具。 - 請求項1に記載の鏡面加工工具であって、
前記切れ刃のすくい角の大きさと逃げ角の大きさとが略等しい、鏡面加工工具。
