Description
本発明は、車両に搭載され、撮像手段で撮像された車両の後方または後側方の映像を矩形の表示領域を有する表示手段に表示する、車両用表示制御装置である。この表示制御装置では、カメラで撮像された矩形映像を非矩形映像に加工して、ディスプレイに表示する。これにより、矩形の表示領域を有するディスプレイに水平方向軸が傾いた映像を表示した場合であっても、映像が傾いていることを乗員が認識しづらくなり、乗員に与える違和感を軽減させることができる。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係る車両用の表示制御装置20を含む車両用システム1の概略構成を説明する図である。図1に示す車両用システム1は、撮像手段10と、本実施形態に係る表示制御装置20と、表示手段30と、を備えて構成されている。
次に、図2および図3A〜図3Dをさらに参照して、本発明の一実施形態に係る表示制御装置20が実行する映像の非矩形化制御を、車両の右後側方の映像を用いて説明する。なお、ここでの説明は省略するが、車両の左後側方の映像についても、同様にして映像の非矩形化制御が実行される。
上述した本発明の一実施形態に係る車両用の表示制御装置20によれば、カメラなどの撮像手段10で撮像された矩形の後方映像LinおよびRinから、非矩形の後方補正映像LoutおよびRoutを生成し、この生成した非矩形の後方補正映像LoutおよびRoutをディスプレイなどの表示手段30の矩形表示領域内に表示する。

Claims (4)
- 車両に搭載され、撮像手段で撮像された車両の後方または後側方の映像を、所定の色彩の外枠を持つ矩形の表示領域を有する表示手段に表示する、車両用表示制御装置であって、
前記撮像手段で撮像された矩形の映像から映像上端および映像下端の一方または双方に湾曲部分を有する非矩形の映像を生成し、当該湾曲部分を有する非矩形の映像を前記表示手段の前記矩形の表示領域内に表示し、かつ、
前記表示手段の前記矩形の表示領域内における前記湾曲部分を有する非矩形の映像が表示されない無映像箇所を、前記矩形の表示領域の前記外枠と同色で表示することを特徴とする、
車両用表示制御装置。 - 前記湾曲部分を有する非矩形の映像は、車両の近傍から遠方に向けて車両上下方向の映像幅を徐々に小さくした映像であることを特徴とする、
請求項1に記載の車両用表示制御装置。 - 前記撮像手段で撮像された矩形の映像の一部を圧縮することで前記湾曲部分を有する非矩形の映像を生成することを特徴とする、
請求項1または2に記載の車両用表示制御装置。 - 前記撮像手段で撮像された矩形の映像から非矩形領域の映像を切り出すことで前記湾曲部分を有する非矩形の映像を生成することを特徴とする、
