Description
電気光学装置は、第1層、第2層、及び第1層と第2層との間に配置される電気光学媒体を含む、可変透過窓を形成する。第1層と第2層の少なくとも一方は、ポリマーフィルムに相当する。電気光学媒体は、第1層と第2層とを共に積層させるように構成されている。当該サンルーフは、電気光学装置を車両に接続するように構成されたフレームを更に備える。
第2保護基体が、第2ラミネーション層を介して第2フィルム層に接合される。フレームが、電気光学装置を車両に接続するように構成される。
実験的な一実施形態では、4つの基体のサンルーフ(例えばサンルーフ50)の全厚は4.5mm未満と測定され、当該4つの基体のサンルーフは、本明細書に記載されるボール落下試験において鋼球の衝撃に耐えるよう動作可能であった。

前記第1ガラス基体に結合されたガラス製の第1保護基体と、
前記第1ガラス基体と前記第1保護基体との間に配置されたポリマーフィルムと、
前記第2ガラス基体に第3ラミネーション層を介して結合されたガラス製の第2保護基体と、

前記ポリマーフィルムは、第1ラミネーション層によって前記第1ガラス基体にラミネートされ、第2ラミネーション層によって前記第1保護基体にラミネートされており、
