Claims (4)
- 複数の共通ラインと、
複数の駆動ラインと、
前記複数の共通ラインと前記複数の駆動ラインとに接続される複数の発光素子と、
前記複数の共通ラインに時分割で電圧を印加する走査部と、
前記複数の駆動ラインのうち点灯対象となる発光素子に接続された駆動ラインから所定のタイミングで電流を引き込む駆動部と、
前記複数の発光素子のそれぞれの発光量を、点灯時間を異ならせることで異なる階調として表現するように階調点灯制御を行う点灯制御部と
を備え、
一フレームが分割された複数のサブフレームに、一フレームで表現すべき階調を分割して割り当てて、時分割で各サブフレームに割り当てられた階調を表示させ、一フレームを構成する複数のサブフレームの階調の総和でもって一フレームの階調を表現し、複数のフレームを組み合わせることで所定の表示を行う表示装置であって、
前記複数のサブフレームは、各サブフレームに2の累乗単位で階調を表現する、互いに階調の異なる重み付け要素が配列されてなり、
前記点灯制御部は、一フレーム中に含まれる複数のサブフレームの少なくとも一つにおける重み付け要素の順番を、他のフレーム中に含まれる複数のサブフレームの少なくとも一つにおける重み付け要素の順番と異ならせ、かつ前記一フレーム中に含まれる複数のサブフレームの少なくとも一つに含まれる複数の重み付け要素の内、時間的に最後に位置した重み付け要素で発光素子の点灯がONとなるパターンにおいて、発光素子の点灯がOFFである重み付け要素の順番を前記時間的に最後に位置させるように、前記重み付け要素の順番を入れ替える制御を行う表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の表示装置であって、
前記一フレーム中に含まれる複数のサブフレームの少なくとも一つにおける重み付け要素の順番を、当該一フレーム中に含まれる他のサブフレームの少なくとも一つにおける重み付け要素の順番と異ならせてなる表示装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の表示装置であって、
サブフレームで表現可能な最大階調を2Y−1(Yは2以上の整数)としたときに、一サブフレームにおいて、階調が2Y-2である重み付け要素における発光素子の点灯がOFFであり、当該重み付け要素を時間的に最後に位置させるように、前記重み付け要素の順番を入れ替えてなる表示装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の表示装置であって、
前記点灯制御部は、一サブフレームにおいて、発光素子の点灯がOFFである複数の重み付け要素を時間的に最後に連続して位置させるように、前記重み付け要素の順番を入れ替える制御を行う表示装置。
