Description
角形二次電池100は、扁平状の捲回群3を不図示の電解液と共に電池容器に封入した構造を有している。電池容器は、電池缶1および電池蓋6を備えている。電池缶1は、相対的に面積の大きい一対の対向する幅広側面1bと相対的に面積の小さい一対の対向する幅狭側面1cと底面1dを有しており、上部は開口部1aによって開放されている。
捲回群3は、負極電極32と正極電極34を間にセパレータ33、35を挟み込んで扁平状に捲回することによって構成されている。捲回群3は、最外周の電極が負極電極32であり、さらにその外側にセパレータ33、35が捲回される。セパレータ33、35は、正極電極34と負極電極32との間を絶縁する役割を有している。
捲回された捲回群3の捲回方向の平坦部の長さをL0、最内周に位置する巻き始め一周目の凸部34cの長さ幅をLx1、正極電極34、負極電極32、セパレータ33、35の合計の厚みをRxとした場合、互いに隣り合う凸部34cと凸部34cとの間に形成される切り欠きの長手方向の長さは(L0 - Lx1 + πRx)として形成される。
図7および図8に示す変形例の特徴は、凸部34c、32cの凸部群のうち、内周側の凸部34c、32cは、捲回群3の厚さ方向に対向していないが外周側の凸部34c、32cは、その一部が捲回群3の厚さ方向に部分的に対向していることである。

Claims (7)
- 正極電極と負極電極を間にセパレータを介して捲回した扁平状の捲回群と、該捲回群が収容される電池容器とを有する角形二次電池であって、
前記正極電極は、正極合剤層を有する正極金属箔の一方の長辺端部に金属箔露出部よりなる複数の凸部を有し、
前記負極電極は、負極合剤層を有する負極金属箔の一方の長辺端部に金属箔露出部よりなる複数の凸部を有し、
前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部は、前記捲回群の捲回軸方向一方側の端面において互いに前記捲回群の厚さ方向一方側と他方側に分かれた位置で且つ、前記捲回群の一方の湾曲部側と他方の湾曲部側に偏った位置に配置されており、前記捲回群の厚さ方向中心側よりも厚さ方向外側の方が幅広に形成されており、
前記電池容器は、正極集電板及び負極集電板が取り付けられた電池蓋を有し、
前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部は、前記捲回群の厚さ方向に重ねて束ねられ、前記正極集電板と前記負極集電板にそれぞれ接合されており、
前記捲回群は、該捲回群の厚さ方向中心に最も近い位置に配置される前記正極電極の凸部と前記負極電極の凸部とが互いに前記捲回群の一方の湾曲部側と他方の湾曲部側に離れた非対向位置に配置されており、
前記捲回群は、該捲回群の厚さ方向中心から最も遠い位置に配置される前記正極電極の凸部と前記負極電極の凸部とが部分的に前記捲回群の厚さ方向に対向する位置に配置されている
ことを特徴とする角形二次電池。 - 前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部の枚数は、前記捲回群の捲回数以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の角形二次電池。
- 前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部の少なくとも一方は、前記正極電極もしくは前記負極電極の一定幅で延在する金属箔露出部を一定の長さで切り欠くことにより形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の角形二次電池。
- 前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部の少なくとも一方は、前記正極電極もしくは前記負極電極の一定幅で延在する金属箔露出部を予め設定された長さに亘って切り欠くことにより形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の角形二次電池。
- 前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部の少なくとも一方は、前記捲回群の厚さ方向中心から厚さ方向外側に移行するにしたがって幅方向両端部が互いに段階的に離れるように形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の角形二次電池。
- 前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部の少なくとも一方は、前記捲回群の厚さ方向中心から厚さ方向外側に移行するにしたがって幅方向外側の端部が前記捲回群の平坦面に対して直交する位置に配置されており、幅方向内側の端部が幅方向外側の端部から離れる方向に移行して一直線状の斜面を形成する位置に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の角形二次電池。
- 前記正極電極の複数の凸部と前記負極電極の複数の凸部の少なくとも一方は、前記捲回群の厚さ方向中心から厚さ方向外側に移行するにしたがって幅方向外側の端部が前記捲回群の平坦面に対して直交する位置に配置されており、幅方向内側の端部が幅方向外側の端部から離れる方向に移行して二次曲線の凹斜面を形成する位置に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の角形二次電池。
