It is a perspective view of the left side part of a vehicle body. It is II-II sectional drawing of FIG. It is sectional drawing which shows the shape and hardening part of a reinforcement member. It is a figure which shows the method of shape | molding a reinforcement member. It is a figure which shows the assembly order of a pillar.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the drawings used for the following description, the scale of each component is made different in order to make each component recognizable on the drawing. It is not limited only to the quantity of the component described in (1), the shape of the component, the ratio of the size of the component, and the relative positional relationship of each component.

As shown in FIG. 1, the pillar structure of the vehicle body of the present embodiment is, for example, a vertical direction between a front door opening 2 to which a front door in the vehicle body 1 is attached and a rear door opening 3 to which a rear door is attached. The pillar 10 extends to That is, the pillar 10 is a part called a so-called center pillar, B pillar, or the like that is disposed on the side surface of the vehicle body 1 in the skeleton structure of the vehicle body. The pillar 10 has an upper end portion coupled to the side rail 4 and a lower end portion coupled to the side sill 5. The pillar structure of the vehicle body according to the present invention may be another columnar part of the vehicle body structure.

As shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG. 2, the pillar 10 includes a member made of three steel plates, an outer member 11, an inner member 12, and a reinforcing member 13. In addition, the thickness of the steel plate which comprises the outer member 11, the inner member 12, and the reinforcement member 13 is not restricted to the form described in a figure, Each may have different thickness.

In FIG. 2, the lower side in the drawing facing the drawing is the outside of the side surface of the vehicle body 1, and the upper side in the drawing is the inner side of the vehicle body 1. Hereinafter, the vertical direction in the figure is referred to as the thickness direction (arrow T in FIG. 2), and the horizontal direction in the figure is referred to as the width direction (arrow W in FIG. 2).

The outer member 11 includes a substantially U-shaped channel portion 11a that opens toward one side in the thickness direction, and a pair of flange portions 11c that extend outward in the width direction from both ends in the width direction of the channel portion 11a. Has a shape. In the present embodiment, as an example, the outer member 11 is disposed in a direction in which the channel portion 11 a opens toward the inside of the vehicle body 1.

The cross-sectional shape of the outer member 11 is generally called a hat shape or the like. In the illustrated embodiment, the entire bottom surface portion 11b of the channel portion 11a is planar, but part of the bottom surface portion 11b may have a curved surface. In addition, in the drawing, the bottom surface portion 11b of the channel portion 11a and the pair of flange portions 11c are described in a substantially parallel manner, but these may not be in a parallel relationship. Further, in the drawing, the pair of flange portions 11c are formed on the same plane, but the pair of flange portions 11c may not be formed on the same plane and may not be in a parallel relationship.

The inner member 12 is disposed on one side of the outer member 11 in the thickness direction. That is, in the present embodiment, the inner member 12 is a member that is disposed inside the vehicle body 1 with respect to the outer member 11.

The inner member 12 has a pair of flange portions 12 a that extend outward in the width direction from both end portions in the width direction and extend along the pair of flange portions 11 c of the outer member 11. The inner member 12 has a convex portion 12b that connects the pair of flange portions 12a and protrudes toward the other side in the thickness direction in the channel portion 11a and has a substantially V-shaped cross section with an obtuse angle. That is, the convex portion 12b protrudes toward the bottom surface portion 11b of the channel portion 11a in the vicinity of the entrance of the opening portion of the channel portion 11a of the outer member 11.

The reinforcing member 13 is disposed between the outer member 11 and the inner member 12. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing only the cross-sectional shape of the reinforcing member 13. The reinforcing member 13 has a pair of first flat portions 13 a interposed between the pair of flange portions 11 c of the outer member 11 and the pair of flange portions 12 a of the inner member 12 at both ends in the width direction. The pair of first flat portions 13a and the pair of flange portions 11c and 12a sandwiching the pair of first flat portions 13a are joined by spot welding. In FIG. 2, hatched hatched portions 14 are spot welded portions of a pair of first flat portions 13a and a pair of flange portions 11c and 12a.

The reinforcing member 13 has a portion having a substantially W-shaped cross section connecting the pair of first flat portions 13a. The substantially W-shaped portion protrudes toward the other side in the thickness direction, and a pair of second flat portions 13b spot-welded to the bottom surface portion 11b of the channel portion 11a of the outer member 11, and the pair of second flat portions. 13b, and a third flat portion 13c that is spot-welded to the top of the convex portion 12b of the inner member 12 and protrudes toward one side in the thickness direction.

That is, when the substantially W shape is expressed as a shape including a pair of troughs and a peak between the pair of troughs, the pair of second flat parts 13b is formed in the channel part 11a of the outer member 11 with respect to the channel part 11a. It is a part used as the bottom of a pair of trough part which protrudes until it contacts the bottom face part 11b. Further, the third flat portion 13 c is a portion that becomes a top portion of a peak portion that protrudes in the channel portion 11 a of the outer member 11 until it contacts the top portion of the convex portion 12 b of the inner member 12.

In FIG. 2, the hatched portion indicated by the reference numeral 15 indicates a spot welded portion between the pair of second flat portions 13b and the bottom surface portion 11b. In FIG. 2, the hatched portion indicated by the reference numeral 16 indicates a spot welded portion between the third flat portion 13 b and the convex portion 12 b.

Therefore, inside the pillar 10 having a box-shaped cross section surrounded by the outer member 11 and the inner member 12, the reinforcing member 13 has a shape in which a plurality of plate members are installed between the outer member 11 and the inner member 12. Have Therefore, the presence of the reinforcing member 13 improves the second moment of section of the pillar 10 in the thickness direction. Moreover, in this embodiment, the inner member 12 has the convex part 12b which is the obtuse angle substantially V shape which made the inner side of the pillar 10 thickness direction the top part 12c. The fact that the inner member 12 has an approximately V shape with an obtuse angle with the inner side in the thickness direction as the top portion 12c also improves the cross-sectional secondary moment of the pillar 10 in the thickness direction.

According to the pillar 10 having the configuration described above, the strength against plastic deformation of the pillar structure of the vehicle body 1 can be improved.

The reinforcing member 13 is not limited to the form in which the reinforcing member 13 is disposed over the entire extending direction of the pillar 10 (the height direction of the vehicle body 1). The reinforcing member 13 is a part of the extending direction of the pillar 10. The form arrange | positioned in an area | region may be sufficient. For example, when the pillar 10 is a B pillar, the weight of the pillar 10 can be reduced by arranging the reinforcing member 13 only in the vicinity of a region where the outer member 11 or the inner member 12 has an opening such as an opening for attaching a seat belt. In addition, it is possible to achieve both prevention of a decrease in the secondary moment of section due to the presence of the opening.

In addition, the reinforcing member 13 is subjected to a quenching process in a region connecting the first flat portion 13a and the second flat portion 13b and a region connecting the second flat portion 13b and the third flat portion 13c. . And the said hardening process is not given to the 1st flat part 13a, the 2nd flat part 13b, and the 3rd flat part 13c which are the area | regions where the spot weld parts 14, 15, and 16 exist. The quenching processing portion, which is a region where the reinforcing member 13 is subjected to quenching processing, is a region surrounded by a two-dot chain line frame denoted by reference numeral 17 in FIGS. 2 and 3.

More specifically, as shown in FIG. 3, the quenched portion 17 includes a bent portion 13 d of the reinforcing member 13, and the quenched portion 17 is in contact with the outer member 11 and the inner member 12. That is, in the cross section, the quenching part 17 is substantially S-shaped or substantially Z-shaped.

As described above, the strength of the reinforcing member 13 is improved by performing the quenching process on the reinforcing member 13, so that the strength against plastic deformation of the pillar structure of the vehicle body 1 can be improved. Further, by performing the quenching process including the bent portion 13d, an improvement in the cross-sectional secondary moment in the thickness direction of the reinforcing member 13 can be obtained.

In the present embodiment, the spot welded portions 14, 15, 16 of the reinforcing member 13 are not subjected to quenching treatment, so that the welding joint strength at the spot welded portions 14, 15, 16 can be improved.

Thus, according to the pillar 10 of the present embodiment, the strength against plastic deformation of the pillar structure of the vehicle body 1 can be improved.

Next, a method for manufacturing the reinforcing member 13 will be described. The reinforcing member 13 of the present embodiment is manufactured by molding a steel plate by hot pressing using a hot pressing apparatus 20 shown in FIG. Hot press processing is a processing method for press forming a heated steel sheet, and is also called hot stamp processing or hot press processing. In the hot press processing, the mold is cooled, and the steel sheet can be molded and quenched to quench the steel sheet.

As shown in FIG. 4, the hot press device 20 of the present embodiment forms the shape of the reinforcing member 13 by sandwiching a steel plate between a die 21 and a punch 22 that are dies. In the present embodiment, a cooling water conduit 24 through which the cooling water is passed is disposed inside a portion of the die 21 that contacts the quenching processing unit 17. On the other hand, a heater 23 such as an electric heater is disposed inside a portion of the die 21 that is in contact with the spot welds 14, 15, 16. The heater 23 and the cooling water conduit 24 may be disposed on the punch 22 or may be disposed on both the die 21 and the punch 22.

Due to the heat generated by the heater 23, the temperature of the portion of the die 21 that contacts the spot welds 14, 15, 16 is kept higher than the temperature at which the steel plate is quenched. Therefore, if the hot press apparatus 20 shown in FIG. 4 is used, the portions that are in contact with the spot welds 14, 15, 16 are not subjected to the quenching treatment, and the other portions are not quenched. The reinforcing member 13 subjected to the insertion process can be manufactured.

Next, a method for assembling the pillar 10 will be described. When assembling the pillar 10, first, as shown in FIG. 5, the inner member 12 and the reinforcing member 13 are joined at the spot welded portion 15. Thereafter, the outer member 11 is joined at the spot welds 14 and 16. The pillar 10 is assembled by the above procedure.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and can be changed as appropriate without departing from the spirit or concept of the invention that can be read from the claims and the entire specification.
