Description
本願発明には以下の態様が含まれる。
項1.
ハニカム構造体を形成する方法であって、
多孔質壁を有するセラミックハニカムの少なくとも一の面上に、未硬化無機セメント組成物の層を形成する手順と、
前記未硬化無機セメント組成物と前記セラミックハニカムとを焼成して、前記セラミックハニカムの少なくとも一の面上に硬化セメント層を形成する手順と、を含む方法であって、
前記未硬化無機セメント組成物は、1以上の無機フィラー粒子と、1以上のキャリア流体と、無機バインダと、を含み、
前記無機バインダの75重量%以上は粘土鉱物であり、コロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカの合計が、前記無機バインダの重量の0〜25%を構成する、方法。
項2.
項1に記載の方法であって、コロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカの合計が、前記無機バインダの重量の0〜10%を構成する、方法。
項3.
項1に記載の方法であって、コロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカの合計が、前記無機バインダの重量の0〜2%を構成する、方法。
項4.
項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記粘土鉱物が、前記未硬化無機セメント組成物中の固体の重量の15〜50%を構成し、前記無機フィラー粒子が、前記未硬化無機セメント組成物中の固体の重量の50〜85%を構成する、方法。
項5.
項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記粘土鉱物が、カオリン−蛇紋石グループの粘土鉱物である、方法。
項6.
項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記粘土鉱物が、カオリン又はボールクレイとして提供される、方法。
項7.
項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記未硬化無機セメント組成物のpHは2〜8である、方法。
項8.
項1乃至7のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記未硬化無機セメント組成物は、前記無機フィラー粒子と粘土鉱物とをキャリア流体と混合することで調製され、前記粘土鉱物と混合される際の前記キャリア流体のpHは2〜8である、方法。
項9.
項1乃至8のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記ハニカム構造体はセグメント化されており、前記セメント層は前記セグメント化されたハニカム構造体のセグメント間の接着層である、方法。
項10.
項1乃至9のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記セメント層は前記セラミックハニカムの表皮層である、方法。
以下の構成要素を混合して未硬化セメント組成物を調製する。
未硬化セメント組成物が以下の表1に示す材料を混合して調製される点を除き、実施例1に記載の方法と同様にして、実施例2と比較例Aとを製造及び試験する。
以下の構成要素を混合することにより、未硬化セメント組成物を調製する。
実施例1と同様の組成を有する未硬化セメント組成物を、1400℃で焼成する。弾性係数は6.6GPaで、破断係数は4.9MPaである。
実施例2と同様の組成を有する未硬化セメント組成物を、1400℃で焼成する。弾性係数は11.9GPaで、破断係数は7.4MPaである。
Claims (9)
- ハニカム構造体を形成する方法であって、
多孔質壁を有するセラミックハニカムの少なくとも一の面上に、未硬化無機セメント組成物の層を形成する手順と、
前記未硬化無機セメント組成物と前記セラミックハニカムとを焼成して、前記セラミックハニカムの少なくとも一の面上に硬化セメント層を形成する手順と、を含む方法であって、
前記セラミックハニカムは10〜30μmの細孔径を有し、
前記未硬化無機セメント組成物は、1以上の無機フィラー粒子と、1以上のキャリア流体と、無機バインダとを含み、前記無機フィラー粒子は前記セメント組成物中の固体の重量の70〜90%を構成し、前記無機バインダは前記セメント組成物中の固体の重量の10〜30%を構成し、
前記無機バインダの75重量%以上は粘土鉱物であり、コロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカの合計が前記無機バインダの重量の0〜25%を構成し、前記未硬化無機セメント組成物のpHは2〜8である、方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、コロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカの合計が、前記無機バインダの重量の0〜10%を構成する、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、コロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカの合計が、前記無機バインダの重量の0〜2%を構成する、方法。
- 請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記粘土鉱物が、カオリン−蛇紋石グループの粘土鉱物である、方法。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記粘土鉱物が、カオリン又はボールクレイとして提供される、方法。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記未硬化無機セメント組成物は、前記無機フィラー粒子と粘土鉱物とをキャリア流体と混合することで調製され、前記粘土鉱物と混合される際の前記キャリア流体のpHは2〜8である、方法。
- 請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記ハニカム構造体はセグメント化されており、前記硬化セメント層は前記セグメント化されたハニカム構造体のセグメント間の接着層である、方法。
- 請求項1乃至7のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記硬化セメント層は前記セラミックハニカムの表皮層である、方法。
- 請求項1乃至8のいずれかに記載の方法であって、前記無機バインダはコロイド状アルミナ及びコロイド状シリカを含まない、方法。
