Description
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である発光素子について図1を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1に示した発光素子に適用でき、かつ本発明の一態様である新規のピレン系化合物について説明する。
下記一般式(G1)で表されるピレン系化合物の合成方法の一例について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様として、電荷発生層を挟んでEL層を複数有する構造の発光素子(以下、タンデム型発光素子という)について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である発光素子を有する発光装置について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である発光素子を適用して作製された発光装置を用いて完成させた様々な電子機器の一例について、図4、図5を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様である発光素子を含む発光装置を適用した照明装置の一例について、図6を用いて説明する。
本実施例では、実施の形態2の構造式(100)で表される本発明の一態様であるピレン系化合物、N,N’−ジフェニル−N,N’−(1,6−ピレニル)−N,N’−ビス(9−フェニル−9H−カルバゾール−3−イル)ジアミン(略称:1,6PCAPrn)の合成方法について説明する。なお、1,6PCAPrn(略称)の構造を以下に示す。
100mL三口フラスコに、0.80g(2.2mmol)の1,6−ジブロモピレンと、1.5g(4.4mmol)のN−フェニル−N−(9−フェニル−9H−カルバゾール−3−イル)アミンと、0.86g(9.0mmol)のナトリウム tert−ブトキシドを入れた。フラスコ内を窒素置換してから、この混合物へ25mLのトルエンと、2.2mLのトリ−tert−ブチル−ホスフィン(10wt%ヘキサン溶液)を加えた。
本実施例では、実施の形態2の構造式(108)で表される本発明の一態様であるピレン系化合物、N,N’−ジフェニル−N,N’−(1,6−ピレニル)−N,N’−ビス[4−(9−フェニル−9H−カルバゾール−3−イル)フェニル]ジアミン(略称:1,6PCBAPrn)の合成方法について説明する。なお、1,6PCBAPrn(略称)の構造を以下に示す。
1,6−ジブロモピレン0.4g(1.2mmol)、4−(9−フェニル−9H−カルバゾール−3−イル)ジフェニルアミン1.5g(3.5mmol)、ナトリウム tert−ブトキシド0.5g(5.3mmol)を50mL三口フラスコに入れ、フラスコ内を窒素置換した。
まず、ガラス製の基板1100上に酸化珪素を含むインジウム錫酸化物(ITSO)をスパッタリング法により成膜し、陽極として機能する第1の電極1101を形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。
作製した発光素子1の動作特性について測定した。なお、測定は室温(25℃に保たれた雰囲気)で行った。
本参考例では、実施例3で用いた下記の構造式で表されるN,N’−ビス(3−メチルフェニル)−N,N’−ビス〔3−(9−フェニル−9H−フルオレン−9−イル)フェニル〕−ピレン−1,6−ジアミン(略称:1,6mMemFLPAPrn)の合成例について示す。
1H NMR(CDCl3,300MHz):δ=2.21(s、6H)、6.67(d、J=7.2Hz、2H)、6.74(d、J=7.2Hz、2H)、7.17−7.23(m、34H)、7.62(d、J=7.8Hz、4H)、7.74(d、J=7.8Hz、2H)、7.86(d、J=9.0Hz、2H)、8.04(d、J=8.7Hz、4H)。
まず、ガラス製の基板3000上に酸化珪素を含むインジウム錫酸化物(ITSO)をスパッタリング法により成膜し、陽極として機能する第1の電極3001を形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。
作製した発光素子2の動作特性について測定した。なお、測定は室温(25℃に保たれた雰囲気)で行った。

- 式(G1)で表される化合物(ただし、重水素またはハロゲンで置換されたものを除く)。
(式中、Arは、置換又は無置換の炭素数6〜10のアリール基を表し、αは、置換又は無置換のフェニレン基を表し、R1〜R12はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、炭素数1〜4のアルキル基のいずれかを表す。また、R13〜R20は、それぞれ独立に水素原子、炭素数1〜6のアルキル基のいずれかを表す。また、nは、0または1である。) - 式(G2)で表される化合物(ただし、重水素またはハロゲンで置換されたものを除く)。
(式中、Arは、置換又は無置換の炭素数6〜10のアリール基を表し、R1〜R12はそれぞれ独立に水素原子、炭素数1〜4のアルキル基のいずれかを表す。また、R13〜R20は、それぞれ独立に水素原子、炭素数1〜6のアルキル基のいずれかを表す。) - 式(G3)で表される化合物。
(式中、R1〜R12およびR21〜R25は、それぞれ独立に水素原子、炭素数1〜4のアルキル基のいずれかを表す。) - 式(100)または式(108)で表される化合物。
- 一対の電極間に、請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一に記載の化合物を有する発光素子。
- 請求項5に記載の発光素子を有する発光装置。
- 請求項6に記載の発光装置を有する電子機器。
- 請求項6に記載の発光装置を有する照明装置。
