Description
さらに、ロータリーエンコーダに回転方向の基準を設ける場合、板状部材2とシャフト部分3aとを互いに軸方向に回転させて回転方向の基準(図示せず)にあわせてから固定することも行われる。勿論、この回転方向の位置合わせは、前述のようにシャフト部分3aとシャフト挿通穴2aとを嵌合させるか、あるいは、シャフト部分3aとシャフト挿通穴2aとを径方向に接触させずに位置決めするときに行われている。
特許文献1には、光学式エンコーダの組立において、ガラス製スリット板をUV接着剤によって金属製ハブ上に接着する方法が開示されている。さらに、特許文献1には、ガラス製スリット板と金属製ハブとの間に介在するUV接着剤の一端部に対して斜め方向から紫外線を照射して、UV接着剤を硬化させることが記載されている。
しかし、上記の態様では、第2の板状部材2の径方向の位置を第1の板状部材1に対して精度よく位置決めすることが難しいという問題点がある。
しかし、特許文献1は、紫外線を透過するガラス材料により作製されたスリット板を接着する方法を開示しているに過ぎない。つまり、特許文献1には、紫外線非透過材料からなるスリット板とハブとの間に介在するUV接着剤を十分に硬化させる方法については何ら記載されていない。
さらに、第一の態様の接着方法は、
第1の波長領域のエネルギー線の照射により硬化するエネルギー線硬化型接着剤と、第1の部品を透過可能な第2の波長領域のエネルギー線を第1の波長領域のエネルギー線に変換して当該第1の波長領域のエネルギー線を放出する波長変換体とを、第1の部品および第2の部品のうちの一方の部品に付着させ、
一方の部品の、エネルギー線硬化型接着剤と波長変換体とが付着された部位に、第1の部品および第2の部品のうちの他方の部品を接触させ、
第2の波長領域のエネルギー線を第1の部品に透過させてエネルギー線硬化型接着剤および波長変換体に照射し、それによりエネルギー線硬化型接着剤を硬化させることを特徴とする。
上記第一の態様により前述の課題が解決される。しかし、本発明は、第一の態様に限られず、以下の第二ないし第四の態様のいずれかの接着方法を提供することもできる。
したがって、第2の波長領域のエネルギー線を第1の部品に透過してエネルギー線硬化型接着剤および波長変換体に照射することにより、エネルギー線硬化型接着剤を硬化可能な第1の波長領域のエネルギー線が波長変換体から放出される。それにより、エネルギー線硬化型接着剤が十分に硬化されることとなる。このため、第1の波長領域のエネルギー線を透過できない材料により第1の部品が作製することができる。さらに、第1の波長領域のエネルギー線を接着剤に導入するための構成を、第1の部品と第2の部品とからなる組立品に対して設ける必要もない。
光学式ロータリーエンコーダでは、図1に示すように、第1の板状部材1と第2の板状部材2とが対向して配置される。第2の板状部材2は回転スリット板である。光学式エンコーダ用の回転スリット板はコード板とも呼ばれる。第2の板状部材2上には、透過部と非透過部とからなる複数のスリット(不図示)が円周方向に形成されている。また、第2の板状部材2が対向する第1の板状部材1の面にも複数のスリット(不図示)が、第2の板状部材2と同じように設けられている。
このような嵌合の公差を採用することにより、シャフト部分3aにシャフト挿通穴2aを挿入している間に板状部材2の径方向の位置をシャフト部分3aの中心に対して精度よく位置決めすることができる。
さらに、図2Cに示すように、紫外線硬化型接着剤(以下、UV接着剤と称す。)5を波長変換体4上に付着させる。UV接着剤5は紫外線から青の波長領域(約10nm〜約450nm)内の光の照射により硬化するものである。
この嵌合工程において、シャフト挿通穴2aとシャフト部分3aとの嵌合の公差を中間ばめの公差に設定しているため、第2の板状部材2の径方向の位置はシャフト部分3aの中心に対して精度よく位置決めされる。
また、図2Bおよび図2Cに示した工程では、波長変換体4をシャフト3の径大部3b上に付着させ、この上にUV接着剤5を塗布しているが、本発明はそのような工程に限られない。例えば、粒状にした波長変換体4をUV接着剤5に混合し、この混合物をシャフト3の径大部3b上に塗付してもよい。また、そのような混合物もしくは波長変換体4をシャフト3の径大部3b上に付着させるのではなく、シャフト3の径大部3bの上面に突当てられるべき板状部材2の下部に付着させてもよい。
そこで、前述したように、紫外線よりも透過性の高いX線7を板状部材2に透過させて接着層6の波長変換体4に照射する。これにより、波長変換体4が紫外線から青の波長領域内の光を放出し、UV接着剤5は紫外線から青の波長領域内の光を受けて硬化する。このため、UV接着剤5の殆どが、紫外線非透過部材により覆われていても、上述した蛍光体4を用いた接着方法によれば、UV接着剤5を十分に硬化させることができる。
さらに、第2の板状部材2の材料としてPEI樹脂を使用できるだけでなく、第2の板状部材2に対向して配置される第1の板状部材1(図1参照)にもPEI樹脂を使用できる。
次に、本発明の他の実施形態について説明する。
上述の実施形態では、板状部材2とシャフト3とを接着する接着剤として、紫外線から青の波長領域内の光の照射により硬化するUV接着剤5を使用している。しかし、本発明に適用可能な接着剤は、そのようなUV接着剤5に限られない。つまり、接着剤は、紫外線から青の波長領域外の波長領域の光、例えば青緑、緑などの光の照射により硬化するエネルギー線硬化型樹脂であってもよい。
紫外線、紫、青、青緑、または緑の光の照射により硬化するエネルギー線硬化型樹脂を接着剤として使用する場合、波長変換体4には、X線の照射により紫外線、紫、青、青緑、または緑の光を発光する蛍光体を使用することが好ましい。そのようなX線用蛍光体を表1に例示する。

Claims (3)
- 第1の波長領域のエネルギー線を透過できない材料からなる第1の部品(2)と第2の部品(3)とからなる組立体の組立において、前記組立体が光学式エンコーダであり、前記第1の部品(2)が、前記光学式エンコーダに用いられるスリット板である場合に、前記第1の部品(2)と前記第2の部品(3)とを互いに接着する接着方法であって、
前記第1の波長領域のエネルギー線の照射により硬化するエネルギー線硬化型接着剤(5)と、前記第1の部品(2)を透過可能な第2の波長領域のエネルギー線(7)を前記第1の波長領域のエネルギー線に変換して当該第1の波長領域のエネルギー線を放出する波長変換体(4)とを、前記第1の部品(2)および前記第2の部品(3)のうちの一方の部品に付着させ、
前記一方の部品の、前記エネルギー線硬化型接着剤と前記波長変換体とが付着された部位に、前記第1の部品(2)および前記第2の部品(3)のうちの他方の部品を接触させ、
前記第2の波長領域のエネルギー線(7)を前記第1の部品(2)に透過させて前記エネルギー線硬化型接着剤(5)および前記波長変換体(4)に照射し、それにより前記エネルギー線硬化型接着剤を硬化させるようにした、接着方法。 - 前記エネルギー線硬化型接着剤(5)が、紫外線から青の波長領域内の光の照射により硬化する紫外線硬化型接着剤であり、
前記第2の波長領域のエネルギー線(7)が、X線、または該X線よりも透過性の高いエネルギー線であり、
前記波長変換体(4)が、前記X線、または該X線よりも透過性の高いエネルギー線を受けて、紫外線から青の波長領域内の光を発光する蛍光体であることを含む、請求項1に記載の接着方法。 - 前記第1の部品(2)がポリエーテルイミド樹脂から作製されている、請求項1または2に記載の接着方法。
