Claims (22)
- 一体型のパージ機構を備えた印字ヘッドアセンブリであって、
前記印字ヘッドアセンブリは、
(a)少なくとも第1と第2の圧力によって駆動される、ノズル板で囲まれた1つまたはそれ以上の分注ノズルを含む液体分注ヘッド、
(b)前記1つまたはそれ以上のノズルの分注方向前方に位置する、開口部を含む遮蔽マスク、および、
(c)前記遮蔽マスクと前記ノズル板の間に形成され、毛細管現象を生じさせる細長い空隙を備え、
前記開口部は、
(i)印刷液が前記第1の圧力によって駆動されて液体分注ヘッドから分注される際、印刷液は前記遮蔽マスク内の前記開口部を介してパルスで分注され、
(ii)印刷液が前記第2の圧力によって駆動されて液体分注ヘッドから分注される際、印刷液は、毛細管力によって、前記細長い空隙へと引き込まれ、それによって、近くの前記ノズルから前記印刷液を取り除く、
ように構成される、印字ヘッドアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載の1つまたはそれ以上の印字ヘッドアセンブリを含む印刷システム。

- 前記ノズルから前記スリットの1つの縁部までの距離が、前記ノズルから前記スリットの反対側の縁部までの距離の20%未満であるように、前記スリットは、前記ノズルに対して中心から外れている、請求項4に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記細長い空隙と流体相互接続する吸引システムをさらに含み、前記吸引システムは、前記細長い空隙に圧力勾配を与え、それによって、前記細長い空隙から前記印刷液を取り除く、請求項1に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記開口部の真下に取り外し可能なように取り付けられた前記細長い空隙と流体相互接続する吸引システムをさらに備え、前記吸引システムは、前記開口部に圧力勾配を与え、それによって、前記開口部を介して前記細長い空隙から前記印刷液を取り除く、請求項1に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記遮蔽マスクは印字ヘッドハウジングをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記印字ヘッドハウジングを冷却する冷却システムを含む、請求項9に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記細長い空隙で捕らえられた前記印刷液を前記印字ヘッドアセンブリの印刷液貯蔵部に戻す、印刷液貯蔵および再循環システムをさらに備える、請求項8または9に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記液体分注ヘッドが印刷領域にある間、印刷液は分注される、請求項1に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記印字ヘッドハウジングは、液体分注ヘッドが、前記ノズル板の近傍にある湿気のあらかじめ定められたレベルを維持するために、加熱したプリント基板上に分注された印刷液から噴出するガスの少なくとも一部を抜くように配置された、補助吸引システムをさらに備える、請求項9に記載の印字ヘッドアセンブリ。
- (a)印字ヘッドアセンブリに、一体型のパージ機構を提供する工程であって、各々の印字ヘッドアセンブリが、
(i)1つまたはそれ以上のノズルを含む印字ヘッド、
(ii)多くの前記ノズルに合わせるように並べられた開口部を含む遮蔽マスク、および
(iii)前記遮蔽マスクとノズル板の間のノズルの分注方向前方に形成され、毛細管現象を生じさせる細長い空隙を含む、工程、
(b)印刷液が開口部を通過して印字ヘッドからパルスで分注されるように、第1の圧力によって前記印字ヘッドを始動させることにより印刷する工程、および、
(c)分注された液体が毛細管力によって前記細長い空隙に引き込まれるように、第2の圧力によって前記1つまたはそれ以上のノズルに印刷液を通すことによってパージする工程、を含む、印刷方法。 - 請求項14に記載の1つまたはそれ以上の印字ヘッドアセンブリを使用する、印刷方法。
- 前記遮蔽マスクは、印字ヘッドの各々の前に開口部を含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記遮蔽マスクの開口部はスリットを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記印字ヘッドの各々の前記スリットの縁部の近傍に前記1つまたはそれ以上のノズルを構成する工程であって、したがって、前記印刷液が前記スリットの前記縁部を介して前記細長い空隙に引き込まれる、工程をさらに含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記ノズルから前記スリットの1つの縁部までの距離が前記ノズルから前記スリットの反対側の縁部までの距離の20%未満になるように、前記ノズルに対して中心から外れて前記スリットを構成する工程をさらに含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記細長い空隙に流体的に接続された吸引システムを用いて、前記細長い空隙から前記印刷液を取り除く工程であって、真空システムが前記細長い空隙に圧力勾配を与え、それによって、前記細長い空隙から前記印刷液を取り除く、工程をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記開口部の真下に取り外し可能なように取り付けられた前記細長い空隙と流体相互接続される吸引システムを用いて、前記細長い空隙から前記印刷液を取り除く工程であって、前記吸引システムが前記開口部に圧力勾配を与え、それによって、前記開口部を介して前記細長い空隙から前記印刷液を取り除く、工程をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記細長い空隙に引き込まれた前記印刷液を、印字ヘッドアセンブリの印刷液貯蔵部へと再循環させる工程をさらに含む、請求項20または21に記載の方法。
