Description
本発明者らは、ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンを利用したゴム変性ポリスチレンとのブレンドの調査において、再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンには、相当量のスチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマー不純物とアクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマー不純物とが含まれることを見出した。これらの不純物が高濃度になると、ポリマーブレンドの衝撃強度と難燃性が著しく低下する。本発明者らは、未使用のポリ(アリーレンエーテル)樹脂を利用し、スチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマー不純物とアクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマー不純物に付随する重合アクリロニトリル残留物の量を特定的に制限することによって、再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンを利用しながら、未使用樹脂で調製した対応するブレンドの所望の特性の大部分を維持する、ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)とゴム変性ポリスチレンとのブレンドが供給できることを見出した。
再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンをシミュレーションするために、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマー(ABS)およびまたはスチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマー(SAN)の量を変えて一連のゴム変性ポリスチレンブレンドを調製した。これらの組成物は表2に示す。成分量は、ゴム変性ポリスチレンブレンドの合計質量に対する質量%である。
これらの実施例では、ゴム変性ポリスチレン系ブレンドのノッチ付アイゾッド衝撃強度に及ぼすスチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマーと二酸化チタンの影響を例証する。
表4に示した組成物を用いてポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と添加剤とのマスターバッチ(「PPEマスターバッチ」)を調製した。表4の成分量は該PPEマスターバッチの合計質量に対する質量%である。成分を乾燥混合してマスターバッチを形成した。
一連のポリ(アリーレンエーテル)組成物を調製して、ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)とゴム変性ポリスチレンのブレンドに及ぼすABSとSAN不純物の影響を調べた。これらの組成物を表5に示す。成分量は、組成物の合計質量に対する質量%である。
2つの発明的組成物と1つの比較組成物を調製して、ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)とゴム変性ポリスチレンとのブレンドの難燃性に及ぼす再利用に関連した不純物の影響を調べた。
Claims (11)
- 特に明記されない限り組成物の合計質量に対して、
30〜60質量%の、未使用ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)から構成されるポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と、
20〜55質量%のゴム変性ポリスチレンと、
0.25〜1質量%の重合アクリロニトリル残留物と、
12〜16質量%の有機リン酸エステルと、
を含み、
エチレン性不飽和エポキシ化合物とオレフィンとのコポリマーを3質量%未満含むことを特徴とする組成物。 - 前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物は、スチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマー、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマーあるいはこれらの混合物を含む使用済み再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンの形態で供給されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物は、
40〜50質量%の前記ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と、
32〜40質量%の前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと、
0.3〜0.8質量%の前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物と、を含み、
前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物は、使用済み再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンの形態で供給され、
前記組成物はポリアミドを含まないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。 - 前記未使用ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と、前記使用済み再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンと、前記有機リン酸エステルと、任意成分として安定剤、酸化防止剤、離型剤、加工助剤、防滴剤、成核剤、UVカット剤、香料、帯電防止剤、鉱油、金属不活性化剤、ブロッキング防止剤およびこれらの組み合わせから構成される群から選択された5質量%までの添加剤と、から構成されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の組成物。
- 特に明記されない限り組成物の合計質量に対して、
30〜60質量%の、未使用ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)から構成されるポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と、
20〜55質量%のゴム変性ポリスチレンと、
0.25〜1質量%の重合アクリロニトリル残留物と、
12〜16質量%の有機リン酸エステルと、を含む成分を溶融混合して組成物を形成するステップを備え、
前記組成物は、エチレン性不飽和エポキシ化合物とオレフィンとのコポリマーを3質量%未満含むことを特徴とする組成物の形成方法。 - 前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物は、スチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマー、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマーあるいはこれらの混合物を含む使用済み再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンの形態で供給されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の組成物の形成方法。
- 前記組成物は、
40〜50質量%の前記ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と、
32〜40質量%の前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと、
0.3〜0.8質量%の前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物と、を含み、
前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物は、使用済み再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンの形態で供給され、
前記組成物はポリアミドを含まないことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の組成物の形成方法。 - 請求項1に記載の組成物を含むことを特徴とする射出成形物品。
- 前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物は、スチレン−アクリロニトリルコポリマー、アクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレンコポリマーあるいはこれらの混合物を含む使用済み再利用ゴム変性ポリスチレンの形態で供給されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の射出成形物品。
- 前記組成物は、
40〜50質量%の前記ポリ(アリーレンエーテル)と、
32〜40質量%の前記ゴム変性ポリスチレンと、
0.3〜0.8質量%の前記重合アクリロニトリル残留物と、を含み、
