しかし、この角度調節機能は、任意設定した切断角度でベースを固定した状態で使用する必要があり、切り初めから切り終わりまで一定の角度を切り抜く為の機能であったため、切り進みながら自由に切断角度を序変させていく様な切り方は出来なかった。
また、ベース底面すなわち被切断部材との接点から若干高い位置にヒンジがあるため、そのヒンジで角度を振れば、鋸歯と被切断部材の接点すなわち切断点ではその振れ幅がさらに大きくなるため狙った切断線がズレて定まらず、カットしたいラインを確実に狙いながら、なおかつ切断角度を序変させて行こうという使い方は、たとえ可動ヒンジにしても不可能であった。
