Description
以下、添加剤としてインヒビタを用いた実施例および予備的な試験例について述べる。冷却液中のインヒビタがイオン交換樹脂に吸着され、インヒビタが減少する現象が発生しているかを確認する試験を行った。インヒビタとして2−メルカプトベンゾチアゾールを用い、初期導電率が1.5mS/mの冷却液(50%v/v水溶液)を、150mLの容量のイオン交換樹脂に、空間速度SV=10、温度25℃で通液した。その結果、通液後の冷却液の導電率は0.5mS/mまで低下し、インヒビタ濃度は初期の10%にまで減少した。これにより、インヒビタがイオン交換樹脂に吸着してしまうことが確認された。
イオン交換樹脂にインヒビタが吸着した冷却液は、耐酸化性能および防食性能が低下するかを確認する試験をさらに行った。上記試験で得た冷却液を、90℃で2000hにわたり恒温槽内に保管する熱劣化試験を行った。その結果、比較として、イオン交換樹脂への通液をしなかった無処理の冷却液と比べて、表1に示すように、導電率が劇的に上昇した。
JIS K1474「活性炭試験方法」に基づき、250mLの冷却液中に5〜30mL(体積)のイオン交換樹脂を添加し、25℃、24hの振とう吸着試験を行い、試験後の冷却液中のインヒビタ残留率を求めた。その結果を図5に示す。図5に示すように、イオン交換樹脂の添加量が増加する程、冷却液中のインヒビタ残留率は減少した。また、このイオン交換樹脂添加量とインヒビタ残留率の結果から、イオン交換樹脂単位体積(1000mL)当たりのインヒビタ吸着量を求め、吸着等温線を作成した(図6)。なお、冷却液1000mL当たりのインヒビタ量は300単位である。図6に示すように、飽和平衡状態の時のイオン交換樹脂単位体積当たりのインヒビタ吸着量は、イオン交換樹脂の添加量に関わらずほぼ一定であることが確認された。
イオン交換樹脂として、マクロポーラス構造の陽イオン交換樹脂(PUROLITE社製のC160)とマクロポーラス構造の陰イオン交換樹脂(PUROLITE社製のA500)を3:7の割合で混合して混床式のものを用いた。このイオン交換樹脂40mLを、内径18mmφのホウケイ酸ガラス製のカラムに充填した。
このようにインヒビタの吸着が飽和状態に達したイオン交換樹脂のイオン交換能を確認する試験を行った。導電率が0.1mS/mの回収したインヒビタ溶液にギ酸カリウムを4mg添加して導電率を0.3mS/mとした。この溶液を、25℃で40mLの飽和状態のイオン交換樹脂にSV=10で通液した。その結果を表8に示す。表8に示すように、インヒビタは吸着しなかったものの、導電率が低下し、ギ酸イオンおよびカリウムイオンを吸着したことが確認された。

Claims (3)
- 燃料電池と、この燃料電池を冷却する冷却液の循環流路と、この循環流路に設けられ、前記冷却液の導電性を維持するイオン交換樹脂とを備えた燃料電池システムであって、前記冷却液が添加剤を含有するものであり、前記イオン交換樹脂が、前記添加剤に由来するイオンのみ、前記イオン交換樹脂への吸着を飽和状態に調製したものである燃料電池システム。
- 前記イオン交換樹脂の調製が、前記イオン交換樹脂に前記添加剤を含有する溶液を通液するか又は前記添加剤を含有する溶液に前記イオン交換樹脂を浸漬することによって行う請求項1に記載の燃料電池システム。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の燃料電池システムを備えた燃料電池車。
