Description
請求項1:
(A)下記組成式(1)
(A1-xBx)3C5O12 (1)
(式中、AはY,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素、BはCe,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素、CはAl及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素であり、xは0.002≦x≦0.2である。)
で示されるガーネット相と、
(B)モノクリニック相及びシリケート相から選ばれる1種類以上の相
とを含有する多結晶の焼結セラミックスであり、(A)相中に(B)相からなる微細結晶が包含されて分散してなることを特徴とする波長変換部材。
請求項2:
上記モノクリニック相が、Y,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Ce,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Al及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素と、酸素とを含有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の波長変換部材。
請求項3:
上記シリケート相が、Y,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Ce,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Al及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素と、ケイ素と、酸素とを含有することを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の波長変換部材。
請求項4:
上記(B)相からなる微細結晶の平均粒径が0.1μm以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項記載の波長変換部材。
請求項5:
焼結セラミックスの気孔率が0.1体積%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項記載の波長変換部材。
請求項6:
請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の波長変換部材を用いた発光装置であり、光源からの光の一部が上記波長変換部材を透過し、かつ光源からの光の一部が上記波長変換部材にて波長変換されて発光することを特徴とする発光装置。
請求項7:
請求項1記載の波長変換部材を製造する方法であって、(A)相に含まれる各元素を(A)相を与える組成で含有する原料粉末と、(B)相に含まれる各元素を(B)相を与える組成で含有する原料粉末とを混合し、得られた混合粉末を成形し、得られた成形体を加熱して焼結することを特徴とする波長変換部材の製造方法。
本発明の波長変換部材は、(A)相として、ガーネット相と、(B)相としてペロブスカイト相、モノクリニック相及びシリケート相から選ばれる1種類以上の相とを含有する多結晶の焼結セラミックスである。また、本発明の波長変換部材は、(A)相を主相とし、(B)相で形成された微細結晶が、主相としての(A)相で形成された結晶中に、包含されて分散されている。
(A1-xBx)3C5O12 (1)
(式中、AはY,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素、BはCe,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素、CはAl及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素であり、xは0.002≦x≦0.2である。)
で示されるガーネット相が好適である。
(A1-yBy)CO3 (2)
(式中、A、B及びCは、上記と同じであり、yは0.002≦y≦0.98である。)
で示されるものが挙げられる。
(A1-zBz)4C2O9 (3)
(式中、A、B及びCは、上記と同じであり、zは0.002≦z≦0.98である。)
で示されるものが挙げられる。
純度99.9%、平均粒径1.0μmの酸化イットリウム(Y2O3)粉末と、純度99.0%、平均粒径0.5μmの酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)粉末と、純度99.9%、平均粒径0.2μmの酸化セリウム(CeO2)粉末とを、各々Y:Al:Ce=2.98:5:0.02のモル比でミキサーにて30分混合し、500gの混合粉末を得た。次に、この混合粉末を、大気雰囲気中、1400℃で4時間焼成し、ガーネット相単相組成の原料粉末(1−1)500gを得た。
実施例1と同様の方法で、原料粉末(1−1)500gを得た。一方、純度99.9%、平均粒径1.0μmの酸化イットリウム(Y2O3)粉末と、純度99.0%、平均粒径0.5μmの酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)粉末と、純度99.9%、平均粒径0.2μmの酸化セリウム(CeO2)粉末とを、各々Y:Al:Ce=3.98:2.00:0.02のモル比で混合し、1gの混合粉末を得た。次に、この混合粉末を、大気雰囲気中、1400℃で4時間焼成し、モノクリニック相単相組成の原料粉末(2−2)1gを得た。
純度99.9%、平均粒径1.0μmの酸化イットリウム(Y2O3)粉末と、純度99.0%、平均粒径0.5μmの酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)粉末と、純度99.9%、平均粒径0.2μmの酸化セリウム(CeO2)粉末とを、各々Y:Al:Ce=2.99:5:0.01のモル比でミキサーにて30分混合し、混合粉末を得た。次に、この混合粉末を、大気雰囲気中、1400℃で4時間焼成し、ガーネット相単相組成の原料粉末(3−1)を得た。
実施例1と同様の方法で、原料粉末(1−1)500gを得た。次に、得られた原料粉末(2)を1軸プレスでプレス成形した後、1750℃にて真空焼結することで、緻密な焼結体を得た。得られた焼結体から縦1.5mm、横2.0mm、厚さ200μmの薄板状の焼結体を切り出して、波長変換部材とした。
Claims (7)
- (A)下記組成式(1)
(A1-xBx)3C5O12 (1)
(式中、AはY,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素、BはCe,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素、CはAl及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素であり、xは0.002≦x≦0.2である。)
で示されるガーネット相と、
(B)モノクリニック相及びシリケート相から選ばれる1種類以上の相
とを含有する多結晶の焼結セラミックスであり、(A)相中に(B)相からなる微細結晶が包含されて分散してなることを特徴とする波長変換部材。 - 上記モノクリニック相が、Y,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Ce,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Al及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素と、酸素とを含有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の波長変換部材。
- 上記シリケート相が、Y,Gd及びLuから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Ce,Nd及びTbから選ばれる1種類以上の希土類元素と、Al及びGaから選ばれる1種類以上の元素と、ケイ素と、酸素とを含有することを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の波長変換部材。
- 上記(B)相からなる微細結晶の平均粒径が0.1μm以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項記載の波長変換部材。
- 焼結セラミックスの気孔率が0.1体積%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項記載の波長変換部材。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の波長変換部材を用いた発光装置であり、光源からの光の一部が上記波長変換部材を透過し、かつ光源からの光の一部が上記波長変換部材にて波長変換されて発光することを特徴とする発光装置。
- 請求項1記載の波長変換部材を製造する方法であって、(A)相に含まれる各元素を(A)相を与える組成で含有する原料粉末と、(B)相に含まれる各元素を(B)相を与える組成で含有する原料粉末とを混合し、得られた混合粉末を成形し、得られた成形体を加熱して焼結することを特徴とする波長変換部材の製造方法。
