Description
室内無線カバレージを、基地局セクタとしても知られている専用の無線基地局(BTS)によって、分散アンテナ・システム(DAS)を介して提供することができる。BTSを、建物の中に配置することができ、あるいは、BTSを、建物の外部に配置することができる。したがって、移動局が建物の内部に配置され、その移動局が、適当なGPS信号又は関連する信号受信を受信しない場合に、使用可能な唯一の位置情報は、BTSのセクタIDである。BTSが建物全体をカバーする場合には、移動局の位置は、その建物に制限される。
本発明のもう1つの例示の実施形態では、多重通路の強度を使用して、建物内の移動局の位置を精密にすることができる。短いRRH範囲を有する屋内環境では、距離に関する信号強度の減衰が、大きい。たとえば、自由空間伝搬を仮定すると、30mでは、移動局102の10mの移動(25mから35mへ)は、受信電力レベルの3dBの変化に対応するが、1000mでは、移動局102の10mの移動は、0.1dB未満の変化に対応し、これは、解決するのに十分に大きくはない。より現実的な伝搬モデルは、距離に関して、平均信号強度のはるかに急峻な変化を有する可能性がある。したがって、多重通路の相対強度を、RRHからの近似相対距離に変換することができ、移動局の位置をより正確に判定するのに使用することができる。
本発明のもう1つの例示の実施形態では、指紋採取信号を、移動局102によって測定でき、報告できるRRH RF信号に加えることができる。移動局102によって行われる測定は、エア・インターフェース依存とすることができる。
本発明のもう1つの例示の実施形態では、アップリンク・パケットを受信し、次に、特定のRRH 230〜230n内でアクティブであるアップリンク移動局102を判定するために完全なエア・インターフェース固有復号を実行する位置管理ユニット(エンティティ)250を、図7に示されているように使用することができる。図7に、本発明のもう1つの実施形態による無線通信システムの一部を示す。この実施形態は、図2に関して上で説明した分散アンテナ・システム(DAS)の実施形態を含み、したがって、説明を簡潔にするために、図7の実施形態と図2の実施形態との間の差だけを説明する。
Claims (4)
- 移動局の位置を突き止める方法であって、
複数のデータ・パケットを作成するステップであって、該複数のデータ・パケットの各データ・パケットは、複数の符号化されたセルラ信号を含み、該複数の符号化されたセルラ信号は、複数のパイロット信号を含む、ステップと、
複数のトランシーバによってサービスされる少なくとも1つのセクタに関連するデータ・ネットワークを介して該複数のデータ・パケットを送信するステップと、
該複数のトランシーバのうちの少なくとも2つが複数の異なるパイロット・ビーコン信号をブロードキャストするように、該複数のトランシーバのうちの少なくとも1つによって無線通信上で該複数のデータ・パケットと1つのパイロット・ビーコン信号とをブロードキャストするステップとを含み、該複数の異なるパイロット・ビーコン信号は、該複数のトランシーバの各々に対応する追加のパイロット信号であり、
移動局が受信を報告する該パイロット・ビーコン信号の信号強度に基づいて該移動局の位置を判定するステップとを含む方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、
異なるパイロット・ビーコン信号は、異なるPNオフセット又は異なるスクランブリング・コードを有する方法。 - 請求項2に記載の方法において、
同一のパイロット・ビーコン信号をブロードキャストする該複数のトランシーバ内のトランシーバは、異なる位相でそれを行う方法。 - 請求項2に記載の方法において、
該移動局によって受信される該パイロット・ビーコン信号の受信信号強度の表示を受信することをさらに含み、該移動局の該位置は、該受信信号強度表示に基づいて判定される方法。
