Description
図1に記載され、かつ100で示される本発明に係る誘導充電システムの典型的な実施形態において、誘導充電システムは、誘導充電装置102と、遠隔装置104とを有する。誘導充電装置は、複数の範囲の電力を生成できる1次コイルアセンブリ101を有する1次回路103を具備する。遠隔装置104は、負荷106を有する2次回路105を具備する。遠隔装置の2次回路105は、電力クラスを包含できる電力要求情報を具備する。電力要求情報は、適当な範囲の電力における電力伝達を容易にするために、誘導充電装置に送信できる。電力要求情報に応答して、1次コイル103は、遠隔装置104に電力を伝達するために介される1次コイルアセンブリ101の適当なコイルを選択する。1つの実施形態において、コイルは、遠隔装置の電力クラスに応じて、少なくとも一部において選択される。単一の誘導充電装置とともに、電力の異なる範囲を選択する能力によって、非常に異なる電力要求を有する装置への電力伝達が可能になる。
本発明に従う誘導充電システムの1つの実施形態を図5に図示し、概略的に500で示す。誘導充電システム500は、誘導充電装置503と、遠隔装置504とが表される。一般的に示されているが、遠隔装置504は、誘導充電装置が、遠隔装置の電力クラスなどの電力要求情報を検出可能であることを含む通信能力を有するいずれの型の装置にも本質的にできる。
本発明は、複数のコイルを備える1次コイルアセンブリを有する1次回路103を具備するいずれの誘導充電装置とともに使用することが適当である。したがって、誘導充電装置102内の1次コイルアセンブリ101に関連しない回路は、詳細に説明されることはないであろう。1次回路103は、単数、又は複数の所望の周波数において、交流電流を提供する能力を有するいずれかの回路を本質的に具備することができる。例えば、電源供給回路103は、Kuennenらによる名称を「誘導結合したバラスト回路(Inductively Coupled Ballast Circuit)」という2004年11月30日に発行された米国特許第6825620号で開示された誘導充電システムの共振探索回路、Baarmanらによる名称を「適応誘導充電システム(Adaptive Inductive Power Supply)」という2007年5月1日に発行された米国特許第7212414号の適応誘導充電システム、Baarmanらによる名称を「通信を有する適応誘導充電システム(Adaptive Inductive Power Supply with Communication)」という2003年10月20日に出願された米国シリアル番号第10/689148号の、通信を有する適応誘導充電装置、Baarmanらによる名称を「電池を充電するシステム、及びその方法(System and Method for Charging a Battery)」という2007年9月14日に出願された米国シリアル番号第11/855710号のリチウムイオン電池をワイヤレスで充電する誘導充電装置、Baarmanらによる名称を「装置識別を有する誘導充電装置(Inductive Power Supply with Device Identification)」という2007年12月27日に出願された米国シリアル番号第11/965085号の装置識別を有する誘導充電装置、又はBaarmanらによる名称を「デューティサイクル制御を有する誘導充電装置(Inductive Power Supply with Duty Cycle Control)」という2008年1月7日に出願された米国シリアル番号第61/019411号のデューティサイクル制御を有する誘導充電装置を具備できる。全てのこれらの刊行物は、その全体が参照することによって、本明細書に包含される。
図3において、2次回路の1つの実施形態が記載され、概略的に300で示される。図3に図示される実施形態において、2次回路300は通常、2次302と、整流器304(又はAD電力をDCに変換する他の構成要素)と、2次制御器316と、メモリ322と、ワイヤレスIR送信器320と、信号レジスタ318と、負荷306とを具備する。他の回路を具備ことができる。例えば、他の1つの実施形態において、低電圧電源を具備して、受信電力をスケール(scale)できる。さらに他の実施形態において、条件回路を具備して、受信電力をフィルタリングするか、さもなければ受信電力を調整できる。
図9のフローチャートにおいて、認証、及び電力伝達制御の方法が記載され、概略的に900で示される。本方法は、ピングメッセージ(ping message)を周期的に送信する工程902と、それに応じて受信したメッセージを認証する工程904と、認証メッセージに応答して、制御識別クラス(CIDC)、及び1次電力クラスPPCを決定して、決定したCIDC、及びPPCに基づいて電力伝達を開始する工程906とを具備する。アクティブ電力送信モード908の間、装置の存在、及び制御点の状態は、遠隔装置からの制御フィードバックパケット912を有するフィードバックループにおいて、連続的にチェックされる(910)。
Claims (20)
- 遠隔装置にワイヤレス電力を供給する誘導充電装置であって、
複数のセグメントを含み、各セグメントは、互いに絶縁された一つ以上のより線を有し、前記遠隔装置にワイヤレスで電力を伝達するために電圧印加可能な単一のコイルと、
複数のスイッチと、
前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造又は直列構造を形成するために、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定する制御器と、
を有することを特徴とする誘導充電装置。 - 前記制御器は、前記遠隔装置が要求する電力及び前記遠隔装置による前記単一のコイルに対する結合要求に適合するように前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定するようプログラミングされる請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
- 前記制御器は、前記遠隔装置から受信した電力要求情報に応じて、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定するようプログラミングされる請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
- 前記制御器は、前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造並びに直列構造のそれぞれにおいて異なる数の巻数を提供するように、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定するようプログラミングされる請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
- 前記制御器は、前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造並びに直列構造のそれぞれにおいて異なる口径値を提供するように、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定するようプログラミングされる請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
- 前記複数のセグメントのそれぞれは、複数のより線を含む請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
- 遠隔装置にワイヤレス電力を供給する誘導充電装置の作動方法であって、
複数のセグメントを含み、各セグメントは、互いに絶縁された一つ以上のより線を有し、前記遠隔装置にワイヤレスで電力を伝達するために電圧印加可能な単一のコイルを提供することと、
複数のスイッチを提供することと、
前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造又は直列構造を形成するために、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定することと、
を有することを特徴とする誘導充電装置の作動方法。 - 前記遠隔装置が要求する電力及び前記遠隔装置による前記単一のコイルに対する結合要求に適合するように前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定することを含む請求項7に記載の誘導充電装置の作動方法。
- 前記遠隔装置から受信した電力要求情報に応じて、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定することを含む請求項7に記載の誘導充電装置の作動方法。
- 前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造並びに直列構造のそれぞれにおいて異なる数の巻数を提供するように、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定することを含む請求項7に記載の誘導充電装置の作動方法。
- 前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造並びに直列構造のそれぞれにおいて異なる口径値を提供するように、前記複数のセグメントを設定する前記複数のスイッチを選択可能に設定することを含む請求項7に記載の誘導充電装置の作動方法。
- 前記複数のセグメントのそれぞれは、複数のより線を含む請求項7に記載の誘導充電装置の作動方法。
- 前記複数のセグメントは、単一のリッツ線コイルを形成する請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
- 前記複数のセグメントは、単一のリッツ線コイルを形成する請求項7に記載の誘導充電装置の作動方法。
- 前記複数のセグメントの並列構造、並列及び直列構造並びに直列構造はそれぞれ、異なる量のインダクタンスを有する請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。

- 前記単一のコイルは、複数のタップを含み、前記制御器は、前記単一のコイルの前記複数のタップとの間の選択を行う請求項1に記載の誘導充電装置。
