Description
本出願は、2007年12月31日に出願された米国特許出願第11/967,979号についての利益を主張するものであり、該出願の全体を参照することにより本願に援用する。2006年1月4日に出願された、発明の名称を「組織穿孔をシーリングするバルーン挿入装置及び方法」とする米国特許出願第11/325,206号の全体を参照することにより本願に援用する。矛盾が生じた場合には、本願において明確に規定され又は示された発明の要旨が、参照により援用されたいかなる発明の要旨よりも優先する。用語の参照により本願に援用された任意の発明の要旨に含まれる明示的又は暗示的な全ての定義は、ここに権利不要求とされた。特許請求の範囲の直前の段落が、前文における権利不要求を条件として、本願において明確に規定される任意の用語に与えるべき意味を決定する。
Claims (14)
- 血管の孔を封止する方法(但し、人間を手術又は治療する方法を除く)であって、
孔を通じて血管に対して相対的に傾いた角度で延びる本体を含む脈管封止デバイスの拡張可能部を、イントロデューサ及び孔を通じて血管内へ移動させるステップと、
脈管封止デバイスの拡張可能部を拡張させるステップと、
拡張可能部を移動させて血管の内壁に接触させ、孔を閉塞するに際し、拡張可能部を少なくとも内壁に接触する直前に血管の内壁に実質的に平行に向けさせるステップと、
拡張可能部が血管の内壁に接触している間に、イントロデューサを通じてシーリング材を拡張可能部の後端領域へ供給するステップと、
シーリング材を体液に晒して、シーリング材の拡張及び立方相の形成によって孔を封止するステップと
を含み、
シーリング材を供給するステップは、イントロデューサの内圧を減少させるステップと、イントロデューサにシーリング材を注入するステップとを含む方法。 - シーリング材を供給するステップは、シーリング材を孔近傍の組織管路へ露出させるステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- シーリング材を供給するステップは、シーリング材を孔近傍の組織管路へ注入するステップを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 拡張可能部を縮小させるステップと、
シーリング材を通じて拡張可能部を血管から除去するステップと
を含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 拡張可能部は、内壁に接触する直前に本体に対し相対的に傾いた角度に向けられる、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 拡張可能部は、弾性エラストマー材料を備える、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 脈管封止デバイスであって、
イントロデューサと、
先端を有する本体と、
イントロデューサを通じて患者の血管の孔に挿入されるよう構成され、かつ、本体の先端に配置された拡張可能部と、
イントロデューサを通じて供給され、体液に晒されることで拡張し、かつ、立方相を形成して孔を封止するシーリング材とを備え、
拡張可能部は、拡張可能部が拡張された状態にある時、本体に対して相対的に傾いた角度に向けられ、
イントロデューサは、本体及びイントロデューサの間の空間と流体連通し、該空間の吸引と該空間へのシーリング材の注入とを可能とするサイドポートを有する、デバイス。 - 本体に固定されたストッパと、
本体に対して後端側に移動可能なキャリアーチューブとをさらに備え、
シーリング材は、キャリアーチューブを本体に対して後端側に移動させることで露出させられるようにキャリアーチューブ内に配置される、請求項7に記載の脈管封止デバイス。 - イントロデューサを通じて孔近傍の組織管路に挿入される有孔チューブをさらに備え、
シーリング材は、有孔チューブを通じて供給される、請求項7に記載の脈管封止デバイス。 - 本体は、拡張可能部と流体連通する導管を形成し、拡張可能部は、前記導管により供給される流体によって選択的に拡張可能である、請求項7〜9のいずれか一項に記載の脈管封止デバイス。
- 本体は、前記導管を形成するハイポチューブを含む、請求項10に記載の脈管封止デバイス。
- 本体は、拡張可能部から先端側へ延びるガイドワイヤを含む、請求項7〜11のいずれか一項に記載の脈管封止デバイス。
- 拡張可能部は、拡張可能部が拡張された状態にある時、本体に対して相対的に約20°から45°の角度に向けられる、請求項7〜12のいずれか一項に記載の脈管封止デバイス。
- 拡張可能部は、弾性エラストマー材料を備える、請求項7〜13のいずれか一項に記載の脈管封止デバイス。
