Description
このうち、NOXを除去するための技術として、排気通路中に配置されたNOX触媒の上流側で還元剤を噴射し、排気ガスとともにNOX触媒に流入させて、排気ガス中のNOX(NOやNO2)を窒素等に効率的に分解して放出する選択還元型(SCR:Selective Catalytic Reduction)の排気浄化装置が知られている。
また、本体部及び蓋部によって囲まれる空間によって折返部が形成される構成であるために、ガイド部及び還元剤拡散部を折返部内に容易に配置することができる。
また、上流側排気通路の出口側開口には、周方向に複数の開口部としての孔を有する第1のリング状部材を備えることにより、当該孔を介して上流側排気通路から折返部に流入する排気ガスの流れ方向を規定する。
また、下流側排気通路の入口側開口には、第2のリング状部材を備えることにより、折返部から下流側排気通路に排気ガスを流入させる。
また、排気ガスを拡散板に導く第1のガイド板を備えることにより、排気ガスを還元剤拡散部を通過させて、還元剤の気化混合を促進させることができる。
さらに、拡散板を通過した排気ガスを下流側の排気通路に導く第2のガイド板を備えることにより、供給された還元剤がNO X 触媒以外の領域に入り込んで付着しないように排気ガスを導くことができる。
なお、それぞれの図中、同一の符号が付されているものについては同一の部材を表しており、適宜説明が省略されている。
図1は、本発明の実施の形態にかかる排気浄化装置10の内部構造の一例を示しており、排気浄化機能を持った消音装置として構成されたものとなっている。
この排気浄化装置10は、本体部12と蓋部11とによって筐体が構成され、全体として角型の排気浄化装置10となっている。筐体の外周囲には、排気浄化装置10を車両に固定するためのフランジ部15aが複数設けられている。また、本体部12及び蓋部11にはそれぞれ取付フランジ部15b、15cが設けられ、本体部12と蓋部11とが図示しないネジ等を用いて固定されている。
このように排気通路が折り返されていることによって、排気浄化装置10の全長が短くされ、装置全体の小型化が図られている。
これらの上流側酸化触媒21、下流側酸化触媒24、パティキュレートフィルタ26及びNOX還元触媒23については、それぞれ公知のものを使用することができる。
この図2及び図3に示すように、排気浄化装置10の折返部18には、上流側排気通路19の出口側開口19a及び下流側排気通路20の入口側開口20aが臨み、それぞれ断面の矩形領域の対角に位置するようになっている。
また、下流側排気通路20の入口側開口20aには、周方向の一部が広く開口した開口部27aを有し、当該開口部27aを介して折返部18から下流側排気通路20に排気ガスを流入させる第2のリング状部材27が配設されている。
これらのリング状部材は、本体部12の側面12bに対向する蓋部11の内面11aに溶接等によって固定されるとともに、本体部12の側面12bにも接するようになっている。
図2の例では、第1のリング状部材25と外周部28との間を塞ぐように三枚の第3のガイド板29が配置されている。そのため、第3のガイド板29と第1のリング状部材25あるいは外周部28との間に隙間ができたとしても、排気ガスが第3のガイド板29を越えて回り込みにくいようになっている。
上述のように、第1のリング状部材25、第2のリング状部材27、第3のガイド板29、第1のガイド板31及び第2のガイド板32は、それぞれ蓋部11の内面11aに固定されるとともに本体部12の側面12bに接した遮蔽板となっており、これらの遮蔽板によって排気ガスが流れる流路が規定されている。本実施形態の排気浄化装置10の構成において、上流側排気通路19の出口側開口19aから下流側排気通路20の入口側開口20aへと直線的に流れ方向を規定していないのは、排気浄化装置の外形を大型化することなく拡散板等の還元剤拡散部やその上流側に配置される還元剤供給部の配置スペースを確保するとともに、還元剤が排気ガス中に混合拡散されやすくなるように十分な距離を稼ぐためである。
これまで説明した排気浄化装置の構成は、言うまでもなく構成例の一つに過ぎないものであり、これ以外にも種々の変形が可能である。
例えば、図5に示すように、第1のリング状部材25、第2のリング状部材27、第3のガイド板29、第1のガイド板31及び第2のガイド板32を、蓋部11側ではなく、本体部12の側面12bに溶接等で固定するようにしてもよい。
このガイド蓋部材40は、下流側排気通路20の入口側開口20aの流路面積よりも小さい排気ガスの導入口40aを有するとともに、当該導入口40aから連続する直線状の部分41が、図2の例における第2のガイド板32と同様の機能を果たすガイド部として構成されている。また、導入口40aには還元剤拡散部としての拡散板30が配置されており、下流側排気通路20の入口側開口20aに流入する排気ガスが、当該拡散板30を通過するようになっている。
Claims (5)
- 折返部を有する排気通路と、前記折返部又は前記折返部よりも上流側の排気通路に配置され前記排気通路中に還元剤を供給する還元剤供給部と、前記折返部よりも下流側の排気通路に配置され窒素酸化物を前記還元剤を用いて還元浄化する還元触媒と、を備えた排気浄化装置において、
前記排気浄化装置の筐体は、前記上流側の排気通路及び前記下流側の排気通路が収容された本体部と、前記上流側の排気通路の出口側開口及び前記下流側の排気通路の入口側開口が設けられた前記本体部に装着された蓋部と、を含み、前記折返部は前記本体部及び前記蓋部によって囲まれる空間からなっており、
蓋部内の前記出口側開口を含む面、又は当該面と対向する蓋部内面に、開口部を有する第1のリング状部材、開口部を有する第2のリング状部材、第1のガイド板、第2のガイド板、及び拡散板を接触して備え、前記第1のリング状部材は前記上流側の排気通路の前記出口側開口に連接され、前記第2のリング状部材は前記下流側の排気通路の前記入口側開口に連接されて設置され、
前記第1のガイド板は前記第1のリング状部材の前記開口部から流出される前記排気ガスを前記拡散板に導き、前記第2のガイド板は前記拡散板を通過した前記排気ガスを前記第2のリング状部材の前記開口部に導き、前記拡散板は前記ガイド板によって導かれる前記排気ガスの流れを前記排気ガス中への前記還元剤の混合を促進させる、ことを特徴とする排気浄化装置。 - 前記排気浄化装置において、前記蓋部における前記排気ガスの流れが、前記上流側の排気通路から、前記出口側開口を経て、前記第1のリング状部材に流入し、前記第1のリング状部材の前記開口部を経て流出し、前記第1のガイド板により導かれて前記拡散板を通過した後、前記第2のガイド板により導かれて前記第2のリング状部材の前記開口部に達し、前記開口部を経て前記第2のリング状部材に流入し、前記第2のリング状部材から前記下流側の排気通路の前記入口側開口を経て、前記下流側の排気通路に流入する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排気浄化装置。
- 前記還元剤供給部は前記折返部内の前記拡散板の上流側に配置されるとともに、前記第1のリング状部材と前記蓋部の外周部との間を塞ぐ第3のガイド板をさらに備え、前記第1のリング状部材から流出した前記排気ガスを、前記第2のリング状部材の前記開口部に導くことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の排気浄化装置。
- 前記排気ガスの流れの途中に配置され、前記排気ガスを前記拡散板に均一に導くための整流板を、さらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の排気浄化装置。
- 前記第1のリング状部材が連接する前記上流側の排気通路の前記出口側開口と、前記第2のリング状部材が連接する前記下流側の排気通路の前記入口側開口が蓋部断面図の矩形領域の対角に位置するように配置されることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の排気浄化装置。
