Description
図1は、本発明の一態様に係る排ガス浄化用触媒を概略的に示す図である。この排ガス浄化用触媒1は粒子を凝集させてなるペレット触媒であり、図1には、その一粒子を描いている。
まず、希土類酸化物を主成分として含有した粉末状の担体11を準備し、そのスラリーを調製する。このとき、分散媒としては、例えば水を使用する。次に、このスラリーに貴金属塩溶液を添加し、これを濾過する。続いて、濾過ケークの乾燥及び焼成を順次行う。このようにして、担体11に貴金属を担持させる。
比表面積が160m2/gの市販のセリア粉末を50g秤量し、これを500mLのイオン交換水中に添加した。超音波攪拌を10分間行うことによりセリア粉末をイオン交換水中に十分に分散させ、続いて、このスラリーにジニトロジアミン白金硝酸溶液を添加した。ジニトロジアミン白金硝酸溶液の濃度及び添加量は、最終製品としての排ガス浄化用触媒において、白金担持量が1重量%となるように調節した。
最終製品においてセリウムに対するバリウムの原子比が10原子%となるように酢酸バリウム水溶液の濃度及び添加量を調節したこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
最終製品においてセリウムに対するバリウムの原子比が50原子%となるように酢酸バリウム水溶液の濃度及び添加量を調節したこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
酢酸バリウム水溶液中へのセリアの添加からその後の焼成までを行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
本例でも、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により、白金担持量を調べた。その結果、本例では、白金担持量は1重量%であった。
まず、各排ガス浄化用触媒を流通式の耐久試験装置内に配置し、触媒床に窒素を主成分としたガスを100mL/分の流量で20時間流通させた。この間、触媒床温度は1000℃に維持した。また、触媒床に流通させるガスとしては、窒素に酸素を5%加えてなるリーンガスと、窒素に一酸化炭素を10%加えてなるリッチガスとを使用し、これらガスは5分毎に切り替えた。
Claims (7)
- 希土類元素とアルカリ土類元素と、白金族元素から選ばれる貴金属とを含み、前記希土類元素の一部と前記アルカリ土類元素の一部とは複合酸化物を形成し、この複合酸化物と前記貴金属の一部とは固溶体を形成していることを特徴とする排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 希土類酸化物からなる担体と、
前記担体の表面を部分的に被覆した希土類元素とアルカリ土類元素との複合酸化物と、
白金族元素から選ばれ、前記担体に担持された貴金属とを具備し、
前記複合酸化物を形成している前記希土類元素は前記希土類酸化物を形成している希土類元素と同一であり、前記貴金属の一部は前記担体上に位置し、前記貴金属の他の一部と前記複合酸化物とは固溶体を形成していることを特徴とする排ガス浄化用触媒。 - 前記希土類元素として、セリウム及びプラセオジムの少なくとも一方を含んだことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記アルカリ土類元素として、バリウム、ストロンチウム、カルシウム及びマグネシウムからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を含んだことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記希土類元素に対する前記アルカリ土類元素の原子比が1原子%乃至80原子%の範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記貴金属の含量は0.01重量%乃至10重量%の範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記貴金属のうちの10%乃至80%が前記固溶体を形成していることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
