Description
本出願は、2006年6月2日に出願された米国仮特許出願60/810、380および2006年10月18日に出願された米国仮特許出願60/852、592の米国特許法第119条(e)に基づく利益を主張し、各々は参照によりその全文を本明細書に組み込まれるものとする。本出願は「光透過性ビア充填のための方法(PROCESS FOR OPTICALLY TRANSPARENT VIA FILLING)」Atty.Doc.No.ESI−160−B.と題する同時に出願され、同一譲受人に譲渡された米国特許出願に関連する。
本技術的主題の分野は、穿孔前に基板を薄くするため、および/または、穿孔後にビアパターンを有する薄くされた基板を構造的に補強するための方法に関する。
本方法によって形成される生産物も本明細書に示す。このような生産物の一例、たとえばパネルは、第1の厚さを有し、第1の厚さよりも小さい第2の厚さを有する部分を含む。パネルは、第2の厚さを有するパネルのその部分中に形成される光透過性の部分をさらに含み、この光透過性の部分は、光透過性材料で充填される少なくとも1つのビアによって形成される。
本発明のうち請求項1に係る方法は、パネルに光透過性の領域を形成するための方法であって、前記パネルに減厚された領域を形成するステップであって、前記減厚された領域が第1表面を有し、該第1表面は、前記パネルの第1外部表面に対して、前記パネルの反対側の第2外部表面が前記パネルの前記第1外部表面に対するよりも近接しているステップと、前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面と前記パネルの前記第1外部表面との間で減厚された領域においてごく小さな孔のパターンを穿孔するステップであって、レーザ光のレーザスポットを適用することによって前記光透過性の領域を画定して前記孔の各々を形成し、前記孔の開口は、前記パネルの前記第1外部表面が裸眼に対して連続的なパネル表面を形成するように、寸法設定され、前記パネルの材料は非光透過性であるステップと、光透過性材料で前記減厚された領域の前記孔を前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面から前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に充填し、前記孔を充填した後に前記光透過性材料を硬化するステップとを含むことを特徴とする。
本発明のうち請求項2に係る方法は、請求項1に記載の方法において、前記パネルの厚さは前記減厚された領域以外のところで400マイクロメートルに等しいかまたはそれよりも大きく、前記減厚された領域における前記パネルの厚さは100マイクロメートルに等しいかまたはそれよりも小さいことを特徴とする。
本発明のうち請求項3に係る方法は、請求項1に記載の方法において、前記孔は円錐形に形成され、前記孔の各々は、前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面において90マイクロメートルから100マイクロメートルの間の第1の直径を有する第1の端部、および、前記パネルの前記第1外部表面において30マイクロメートルから40マイクロメートルの間の第2の直径を有する第2の端部を含むことを特徴とする。
本発明のうち請求項4に係る方法は、請求項1に記載の方法において、前記ごく小さな孔のパターンを穿孔するステップは、前記レーザスポットを前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面に適用するステップと、前記パネルの前記第1外部表面まで穿孔するステップとを備え、前記光透過性材料は液体形状の硬化可能なポリマーであり、前記光透過性材料で前記孔を充填するステップは、前記液体形状の硬化可能なポリマーを前記減厚された領域における前記パネルの前記第1外部表面に適用するステップを備えることを特徴とする。
本発明のうち請求項5に係る方法は、請求項4に記載の方法において、前記硬化可能なポリマーを紫外線光源を用いて硬化させるステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする。
本発明のうち請求項6に係る方法は、請求項5に記載の方法において、前記硬化可能なポリマーを硬化させるステップの後に、光透過性材料で前記減厚された領域を前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面から前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に充填するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする。
本発明のうち請求項7に係る方法は、請求項6に記載の方法において、前記硬化可能なポリマーを硬化させるステップの前に、光透過性材料で前記減厚された領域を前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面から前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に充填するステップをさらに含み、前記硬化可能なポリマーを硬化させるステップは、前記紫外線光源を、前記光透過性材料が充填された前記減厚された領域における前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に向けるステップを含むことを特徴とする。
また、本発明のうち請求項8に係るパネルは、請求項1乃至7のうちいずれか一項に記載の方法を用いて製造されたことを特徴とする。

Claims (8)
- パネルに光透過性の領域を形成するための方法であって、
前記パネルに減厚された領域を形成するステップであって、前記減厚された領域が第1表面を有し、該第1表面は、前記パネルの第1外部表面に対して、前記パネルの反対側の第2外部表面が前記パネルの前記第1外部表面に対するよりも近接しているステップと、
前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面と前記パネルの前記第1外部表面との間で減厚された領域においてごく小さな孔のパターンを穿孔するステップであって、レーザ光のレーザスポットを適用することによって前記光透過性の領域を画定して前記孔の各々を形成し、前記孔の開口は、前記パネルの前記第1外部表面が裸眼に対して連続的なパネル表面を形成するように、寸法設定され、前記パネルの材料は非光透過性であるステップと、
硬化可能なポリマーである光透過性材料で前記減厚された領域の前記孔を前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面から前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に充填し、前記孔を充填した後に前記光透過性材料を硬化するステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記パネルの厚さは前記減厚された領域以外のところで400マイクロメートルに等しいかまたはそれよりも大きく、前記減厚された領域における前記パネルの厚さは100マイクロメートルに等しいかまたはそれよりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記孔は円錐形に形成され、前記孔の各々は、前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面において90マイクロメートルから100マイクロメートルの間の第1の直径を有する第1の端部、および、前記パネルの前記第1外部表面において30マイクロメートルから40マイクロメートルの間の第2の直径を有する第2の端部を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ごく小さな孔のパターンを穿孔するステップは、前記レーザスポットを前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面に適用するステップと、前記パネルの前記第1外部表面まで穿孔するステップとを備え、前記光透過性材料は液体形状の硬化可能なポリマーであり、前記光透過性材料で前記孔を充填するステップは、前記液体形状の硬化可能なポリマーを前記減厚された領域における前記パネルの前記第1外部表面に適用するステップを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化可能なポリマーを紫外線光源を用いて硬化させるステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化可能なポリマーを硬化させるステップの後に、光透過性材料で前記減厚された領域を前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面から前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に充填するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化可能なポリマーを硬化させるステップの前に、光透過性材料で前記減厚された領域を前記減厚された領域の前記第1表面から前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に充填するステップをさらに含み、
前記硬化可能なポリマーを硬化させるステップは、前記紫外線光源を、前記光透過性材料が充填された前記減厚された領域における前記パネルの前記第2外部表面に向けるステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。 - 請求項1乃至7のうちいずれか一項に記載の方法を用いて製造されたことを特徴とするパネル。
